Nice to squash a long standing bug. Wheel speed has been odd and jaggy for a while but couldn't track it down. Math between integer and floating point values (especially division) will ruin your day if you're not careful. Used a different, cleaner approach and it works great now.

How to win friends....err how to have your time frames extended. The 330 was up for emissions inspection, so I had to get the car back in order for that. Then drive it enough...in the meantime, I was trying to brush up on my programming skills by taking an MIT Open Courseware class. That is on hold, because it's more productive for me to learn the HashiCorp stack of products on the left...which is almost done. Then, life happened. So, I'm finishing up with the HashiCorp stuff, then back to torque algorithms... So, yes, I'm alive and this gonna get finished!

A sample of just how much code and objects I've been working on to get the drivability of the 330 in better shape. Still a decent amount of integration to go, but the main pieces are written. Also reorganized into smaller scripts and put them all in a group to organize them.

On the BMW front, taking a step back and breaking down what the torque control is doing into smaller functions. Then comparing to stock and making sure I'm not missing anything.

Not the prettiest of wiring, but tested the Isabellenhütte IVT-S shunt. Open source library available on GitHub (isa-ivt-shunt-rs). Integrating into Charge Port controller soon.

Demo of CHAdeMO charging in action. I need a wider angle lens, and sorry I needed two hands to put the connector in. As you can see the adapter is requesting 32 Amps which is how the CHAdeMO quick charge knows when to begin. This means I have a solution to handle US charging scenarios. Working on CCS for EU folks!

And we have CHAdeMO! On the Tesla Model 3 Charge Port ECU with my own controller. Mind the mess, needed to test a theory...it needs to see voltage before it will tell the charger to go.

CHAdeMO simulator working well enough to convince the Model 3 to start charging. I have a video, it's on Twitter, but IG wants to crop it and it's bad enough without that :)

Since charging is the short term problem, it was time to reconfigure the table to be more conducive to productivity. Charger, charge port, controllers all in an easier to get to location. I need another power strip . :) Bonus: BMW i3 CCS controller in the back right corner.

I think I need a bigger table. Everything for CHAdeMO is just a little bit on the large side. However this connector is from an actual charging station and designed to be in inclement weather. Testing with this soon. Need an additional 12V signal.

Here we demonstrate the older firmware which I couldn't get working previously.... working! Through some brute force searching and some luck, I found the missing message, and the right bits to update the LED.

Not just for Tesla chargers, either! Here we demonstrate J1772 support. We've also made progress on older and EU firmware, but still working the details out on those!
