Day and Night Wrecker Service is grateful that no injuries were reported after one of our tow trucks was stolen and later crashed into a local apartment complex in Hillsboro. No Day and Night employees were involved in this incident. The individual responsible for stealing the vehicle was taken into custody. We extend our sincere appreciation to the Hillsboro Police Department for their swift and professional response in safely apprehending the suspect.And to the Hillsboro Fire Department for their quick assistance at the scene. We’re incredibly thankful that no residents, bystanders, first responders, or our employees were hurt. Day and Night Wrecker Service remains committed to serving our community with professionalism and integrity, and we thank everyone involved for bringing this to a safe resolution.

This is so important for safety of everyone.

One of the questions we hear from time to time is, “Why did they have to close the entire road?” The answer is simple: to keep everyone safe.

When firefighters, EMS personnel, and law enforcement are working on a roadway, they are often just a few feet away from moving traffic. A passing vehicle traveling at highway speeds can quickly turn an emergency scene into an even bigger tragedy.

Road closures may be necessary to:
🔥 Protect firefighters and first responders working on foot.
🚑 Provide a safe area to care for injured patients.
🚗 Prevent secondary crashes caused by distracted or speeding drivers.
🚒 Allow emergency vehicles and equipment to operate safely.
⚠️ Remove hazards such as fuel spills, downed power lines, or damaged vehicles.
📋 Preserve the scene when an investigation is required.

We understand that being delayed is frustrating, especially when you’re trying to get somewhere. However, those few extra minutes could mean the difference between a responder going home safely to their family or not.
