Thanks to the Black Hills' location, wide-open skies, and minimal light pollution, we're occasionally treated to spectacular displays of the Aurora Borealis during periods of strong geomagnetic activity. Be sure to check the aurora forecast before your stay; you might just be lucky enough to catch them! 💚💜

Even if the Northern Lights don't make an appearance, the Black Hills offer incredible stargazing conditions. With clean air, high elevation, and expansive night skies, it's one of the best places to spot the Milky Way, constellations, and even shooting stars. 🌠

We're still dreaming about all the excitement from last weekend as we celebrated America's 250th! 🎆

From water balloon games and rubber duck races to ice cream socials, a flag raising ceremony, prize contests, live music, photo ops, and even the Northern Lights ✨, it was a weekend to remember. We also loved gathering with campers in Miner's Lounge for a cozy watch party of the monumental Mount Rushmore fireworks show. 🎇

We're so grateful for our campground community and for the opportunity to share such a memorable celebration with our campers in the best place on earth. 💙 More photos to come!
