It's time for , campers!

Combine prehistoric finds with all the benefits of modern camping at this week's KOA. Strategically located near Route 191, this campground is the perfect pit stop for Western road trippers.

The campground's variety of RV sites accommodates everyone, from the van lifers to the motorhome enthusiasts. Choose from pull-thru, back-in, or KOA Patio sites and spend less time setting up and more time relaxing. No RV? No problem. Stay in a ultra-comfy Deluxe Cabin or a classic tent site.

The area is known for its abundance of dino finds. Under 20 miles away is Dinosaur National Monument, where you can see over 1,500 fossils on exposed cliff face. Other state parks in the area provide boating and fishing with views of dinosaur tracks along the way. After you've channeled your inner paleontologist, camp is a welcome respite. Challenge your fellow campers to a game of horseshoes or giant jenga, cool off in the pool, or take in a movie under the stars.

Ever wanted to watch a rocket launch while you camp? 🚀

SpaceX launched Starship's 14th test flight and first attempt to go to orbit from Starbase Texas a few weeks ago, and it was a sight to behold from South Padre Island KOA Holiday. SPI offers a unique experience to campers where they can enjoy the coastal breeze, Texas beaches, and the occasional rocket lift off!

Join us tomorrow for the semi-annual Crazy Horse Volksmarch! 🥾⛰️

Twice a year, Crazy Horse hosts the Black Hills community and visitors for a hike along dirt trails and gravel work roads up to the Crazy Horse Mountain Carving. This is a rare opportunity to get an up-close view of the Mountain and see the incredible sculpting work in progress!

The walk begins at 8 a.m., but we recommend arriving early! Registration is open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
After the hike, join us back at the campground to relax with a cup of hot coffee and a fresh meal from the food truck. ☕️🍂

🇺🇸 We had a great Labor Day weekend here at the Hill City / Needles Highway KOA!

In addition to all our scheduled activities, we had a blast watching our guests enjoy the gold and gem mining sluice right across from our camp store! ⛏️💎 We also hosted a watch party for the opening night of football in our cozy Miner's Lounge, and, of course, made lots of camping memories. 🏈🏕️

We love summer, but there’s something so special about this time of year: looking ahead to cozy fall activities just around the corner 🍂 and reminiscing on a full summer of magical camping memories here in the Black Hills.

🍷 We loved seeing our campers enjoy our Sip & Scent event, tasting local w**es and charcuterie, and sampling locally made Black Hills lotions, candles, and salves. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a fun night!

Welcome, Bikers!! 🏍️

Nestled along the scenic Needles Highway, we get a front-row view of the parade as thousands of bikers head out to experience one of the Black Hills' most iconic rides throughout Bike Week!🌲

Wind your way through granite tunnels, past towering granite spires, and along the 14-mile scenic loop through Custer State Park, where you'll spot all kinds of wildlife across the hills and plains. Needles Highway reaches nearly 6,500 feet in elevation, offering incredible views along the way. ⛰️
