We have many beautiful places to explore! But first, a few things to know from Visit Highlands! ⬇️
Highlands gives us some unforgettable places to explore. Let’s help keep them that way. 🌿
A few good things to know before your next trail day:
Plan ahead. Weather changes, parking fills up, and trails can be busy. A little preparation helps keep you safe and helps reduce pressure on popular places.
Stay on the trail. Shortcuts may seem harmless, but repeated footsteps can damage plants, roots, moss, and soil. The trail is there to protect the landscape around it.
Pack out your trash. Food scraps, wrappers, bottles, and leftover waste can affect water, wildlife, and other visitors. If it came with you, it should leave with you.
Leave nature as you found it. Rocks, plants, flowers, and natural details belong where they are. Take the photo, leave the place intact.
Be careful with fire. Fire can leave lasting damage when it is not managed properly. Follow posted rules, use established areas only when fires are allowed, and make sure everything is fully out.
Keep wildlife wild. Watch from a distance and never feed animals. Human food can change their behavior and put both wildlife and people at risk.
Share the outdoors kindly. Keep noise low, give others space, yield on the trail, and remember that everyone is here for the same mountain peace.
Small choices add up here, and they really can make a difference. ✨
Save this before your next visit and help preserve the beauty of Highlands.
