We offer boat repair, service, brokering, and winterizing. EB Marine is a Service and Sales marine business focused on the Performance Boat Industry and Local Boating Interests. 🐾 WOODY’S WINTERIZATION TIP: DON’T FORGET WHAT’S INSIDE THE ENGINE.

If you have a boat that’s going to sit for the winter, draining the water and stabilizing the fuel are only part of the job. Mercury recommends protecting internal engine components during off-season storage. Mercury Storage Seal Fogging Oil forms a protective lubricant barrier on internal metal surfaces to help prevent rust and corrosion while the engine sits.

🐾 What will Woody and the EB Marine team do?

For engines where the applicable Mercury procedure calls for Storage Seal, we’ll follow the Mercury procedure for your specific engine model rather than treating every engine the same.

1. Prepare the engine for storage
We’ll identify the engine and use the appropriate Mercury storage procedure. Mercury specifically advises consulting the engine’s owner’s manual because the procedure can vary by model.

2. Remove the spark plugs
This gives us direct access to the cylinders so the Storage Seal can protect the internal surfaces that you can’t see.

3. Apply Mercury Storage Seal
Storage Seal is applied into the cylinders according to the specified procedure. For example, Mercury’s 150 FourStroke storage instructions specify approximately 1 fl. oz. into each spark-plug hole.

4. Distribute the protective coating
The engine is carefully rotated/cranked as prescribed for that model to distribute the Storage Seal throughout the cylinders. The goal is to leave a protective film on internal metal surfaces during storage.

5. Reinstall the spark plugs
Once the internal components have been treated, everything is properly reassembled and the engine is ready for its winter rest.

Why bother? Mercury says Storage Seal helps protect internal metal surfaces from rust and corrosion and keeps the cylinders lubricated, helping protect the cylinder and piston when the engine is started again after storage.

Selling a Minn Kota PowerDrive V2 trolling motor. Label shows 55 PD V2 – 48" shaft, Model 1358710. Great option for someone needing a replacement trolling motor, parts, or a setup for a fishing boat, jon boat, aluminum boat, or pontoon.

This is a used unit and does show normal cosmetic wear, including scuffs, scratches, and marks from use/storage. The decals are still readable and the model information is clearly visible. Please review the photos closely for condition.
