There's a reason your car emblems keep falling off. First off, ceramic coatings are literally designed so nothing sticks to them.

That includes your badges.

Even on vinyl, re-using old emblems is usually a waste of time.

Once that factory bond is broken, you can't just "glue" it back.

The chemicals used to clean the old foam usually ruin the new adhesive anyway.

👉 If you’re wrapping or ceramic coating your car, just buy new emblems or go for the debadged look.

It saves you the headache of chasing letters down the highway after a car wash 🤣🧼

What do you think looks better, debadged or original factory look?

It’s actually not the tint that damages your defrosters... It’s the removal. When old film is pulled off or scraped with a razor, it breaks the electrical flow and your defroster will stop working. 🥶

If your tint is bubbling, get it fixed ASAP. Because the longer it sits, the more it bonds to the metal, making a clean removal almost impossible.

If a shop isn’t careful during removal, your heater is toast. Better to pay for a pro than a new back window!!

Have you ever had their rear defroster stop working after a tint removal?

Wetter is NOT always better. 🚫💦 Most people think "wet" is safer for repositioning, but water is actually your worst enemy when it comes to vinyl wrap.

It kills the tack and makes deep curves almost impossible to stick.

Now when it comes to PPF wrap, water is actually your best friend.

Some brands are pushing new "dry" PPF wrap, but it usually leaves marks and looks like a mess.

Remember... just because it's a "wrap" doesn't mean the rules are the same!!

Vinyl wrap = dry
PPF wrap = wet

Have you tried the new dry PPF options, or are you sticking with the wet method?

3 things you need to know this before you decide to get Stealth PPF (AKA Matte PPF). 👇

1. First off, the material itself costs roughly 50% more than standard gloss. 💰

2. Unlike gloss, you can’t just do a "partial" kit. It’s the whole car or nothing.

3. If you have rock chips or deep scratches already, the film won't save you. This is why you rarely see it on used cars.

So... would you drop thousands of dollars to matte out your daily driver?

If you're not pre-stretching, you're making a mistake! 😳 If you just lay it flat and start squeegeeing, you’re pretty much pushing the material into a corner.

That creates "fingers" and tension that wants to pop back the second you walk away.

("fingers" are the wrinkles or excess material that bunch up along the edges or curves of a panel when the film is stretched)

The pro move is pre-stretching the vinyl about 30% larger with some heat BEFORE it even touches the car.

So instead of pushing it out, you’re letting the material shrink back and anchor itself around the edges.

But don't go too crazy... you can definitely over-stretch. Pulling the vinyl too tightly into a recessed area or around a curve causes the material to bunch up at the perimeter.

Pro tip: Always post-heat the edges to 'kill' the memory. 🔥 If you don't, that vinyl will eventually try to go back to its original shape.

Have you tried pre-stretching, or do you prefer the glassing method? 🤔

Most people think you can wrap any plastic, but LSE surfaces are a pain in the 🫏🤬

Low Surface Energy (LSE) plastics are super porous and usually coated in oils

Standard vinyl glue just won’t bite.

That’s why your Jeep trim or dirt bike fenders always peel.

❌ The secret isn’t more heat.

It’s using rigid, pre cut kits that lay flat.

Permanent LSE adhesive doesn’t move or stretch once it’s down. One mistake and it’s game over because these suckers lock down instantly!!

ALWAYS ask a pro for help with these, or you're just throwing money away.

Have you ever tried wrapping textured plastic, or did it peel immediately?

Thinking about getting an anime wrap? Start with high quality files.

The biggest mistake people make with anime wraps is ignoring the resolution.

Most new artwork isn't high enough quality to print at car scale.

If you don't have the raw vector files, your itasha is going to look like a pixelated mess. 💩

Check out dedicated vector art sites. Many artists specifically license high-res versions of their fan art for car projects!

Design is also about more than just slapping a character on the door like a sticker.

Think of the background as the glue that makes the character part of the car. Use action effects like poofs, clouds, or fire to wrap around those weird body lines.

Which anime character are you putting on your car first? 🏎️

🔪 If you’re still holding your knife like a steak knife, you aren’t ready to cut vinyl on a vehicle.

Most installers think cutting vinyl is about steady hands. It’s actually about how lightly you can hold the knife. If you’re gripping it like a steak knife, you’re going to cut too deep.

The secret is scoring the vinyl so it tears, rather than slicing all the way through.

Some installers will tell you to try cutting vinyl on the surface of a balloon without popping it, but there are better ways to build that muscle memory. 👇

Start practicing on hidden areas like the underside of a hood where mistakes won't show.

You can also try scoring vinyl over a piece of loose glass or plastic trim to find that perfect depth without any pressure.

On a scale of 1–10, how confident are you taking a knife to a car?
