The best compliment we receive is not spoken. We have many customers that drive a long way to get to us. A few days ago, I had one from Wilsonville, one from Oak Grove, and one from Concord. Today I have someone from Concord coming in. I am truly grateful and humbled knowing those customers are passing numerous other tire shops on the way to me. We truly appreciate all of our customers! I can never thank you enough. We will always strive to earn your business!

DID YOU KNOW?

Tires are WAY more complicated today than when I started in the 80’s! Back then you could stock about 10 sets of tires and cover most vehicles. Now- there can be 4 or 5 different sizes for ONE vehicle! We have to have TPMS tools and scanners to program Tire Pressure Sensors to read correctly on your vehicle and pay annually to update the software to stay current. If a tire tech doesn’t know and uses the wrong valve core ( It has to be nickel plated. ) in your metal TPMS sensor, the metals aren’t compatible and will corrode the core and break off when trying to remove the core and THEN the sensor has to be replaced. And if they don’t know how to properly set up the machine when changing the tire, they can damage or break the sensor. Does your tire shop know all of this? Come see us for experience and expertise! There are a few of the big box stores that offer services either at a discounted rate or free. Those same stores have damaged/ cross threaded lug nuts, left oil drain plugs loose, etc. We have corrected balance problems from some of the larger chains with the same equipment as we have, but they don’t know how to use it properly. We offer experience. We offer service after the sale. We offer honesty. We offer value. We offer quality. If those things are important to you, come see us.

Some of you may have noticed that Jennie hasn’t been here lately. Our health insurance has gone up $400- $500 a month every year for the last few years so we have made the difficult decision for her to go back to a corporate job in order to get more affordable health insurance. This is not something we did hastily and not something we take lightly. I miss having her at work and I know our customers will miss her as well. Jennie and I truly appreciate your loyalty and support. Thank you for supporting our small business! We couldn’t do this without you.

***UPDATE*** I’m back! Power was restored faster than expected.

Power is out at the shop for at least a few hours. Power went out and then sirens were heading down 58, so I’m afraid there’s been an accident that’s taken out power. I will be heading home so that I can at least price tires. Thank you for your understanding.

Raise your hand if you’ve ever made an appointment and still been sitting there 2 hours later…

That’s why we don’t like the word appointment. An appointment is a commitment from us to work on your vehicle on that day and time. That’s nearly impossible to predict long term.

What we do is schedule work. We do drop offs anytime or schedule a “Will Call” for a set day and time. When we do this, we ask that you call before you come to confirm #1- That you’re on your way and #2- That we’re on schedule. Once that is done, when you arrive we’re actually working on your vehicle. We try and make sure that we respect your time and get you taken care of as quickly as possible and this has proven to be the best way that I can do that as a one man shop.

Mavis has bought out almost every large chain out there and a lot of smaller ones as well. They bought NTB, Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers, etc. and now Pep Boys. They’re the behemoth in the tire industry. We truly appreciate you supporting small business. Mom & Pop shops are becoming a thing of the past.
