Summer storms are a big deal when camping.
Awnings / slide toppers
Remember to pull your slides in at max 40 mph when you have slide toppers.
Awnings are for shade, not rain and do not hold up in breezy weather.
Tying down awnings is bad for the mounting on the rv and can rip out under even minor gusts.
Never leave them out when not sitting with them out for shade. They reduce sun heat on the side and windows.
Campers with window awnings on either side can be damaged in wind and rain (airstream, class a motorhomes)
Use them inland away from wind zones like beaches and lake front.
