🚙 In the Shop This Week | Land Rover Coolant Leak

Sometimes the problem announces itself.

This Land Rover arrived with a coolant leak that wasn’t hard to spot—a puddle of coolant on the ground was the first clue. While it’s tempting to keep topping it off and driving, coolant leaks only get worse with time and can quickly lead to overheating and engine damage.

Our technicians traced the leak to its source, performed the necessary repairs, and pressure-tested the cooling system to ensure everything was sealed up and operating properly.

If you’ve noticed:
💧 Coolant spots under your vehicle
🌡️ Rising engine temperatures
⚠️ Low coolant warnings
🔧 The need to frequently add coolant

Don’t wait until a small leak becomes a major repair.

Weekend Vibes 😎🔴

Some cars turn heads. Others make the whole parking lot jealous.

This red Audi R8 stopped by the shop this week and had the rest of the lineup looking a little green with envy. With its striking color, unmistakable stance, and V10 soundtrack, it's hard not to appreciate a machine like this.

Whether you're heading out for a weekend cruise, a wine country drive, or just enjoying the sunshine, we hope you get some seat time behind something you love.

Have a great weekend, Sonoma County! 🚗☀️

🔧 In the Shop This Week 🔧

This Audi came into the shop with a broken camshaft—a failure that can quickly turn into a major engine repair.

While most drivers never expect something like this to happen, major failures are often preceded by subtle warning signs such as unusual noises, check engine lights, rough running, or performance concerns.

Our job is to find the root cause, assess the extent of the damage, and help our customers make informed decisions about the next steps.

Every week we see everything from routine maintenance to complex diagnostics and major engine repairs. This Audi definitely landed on the more challenging end of the spectrum.

🔧 In The Shop This Week 🔧

This week we're replacing a failed turbocharger on a Volvo.

Turbochargers help your engine make power efficiently, but years of heat, oil exposure, and normal wear can eventually lead to failure. Common symptoms of a failing turbo include:

✔️ Loss of power
✔️ Check engine light
✔️ Excessive exhaust smoke
✔️ Whining or siren-like noises
✔️ Increased oil consumption

Catching turbocharger issues early can help prevent more costly engine repairs down the road.

If your vehicle isn't performing like it should, don't ignore the warning signs—we're here to help.

🚗 Brake Fluid Service: Why Every 2 Years Matters 🛑

Brake fluid doesn’t just sit in the system—it absorbs moisture over time.

That moisture can lead to:
✔️ Reduced braking performance
✔️ Internal corrosion in brake components
✔️ A softer brake pedal
✔️ Premature wear on expensive ABS and brake system parts

That’s why most European manufacturers recommend replacing brake fluid every 2 years, regardless of mileage.

At Capricorn Automotive, we use quality fluids and the proper bleeding procedures to help keep your braking system performing exactly the way it should.

Because when it comes to stopping power, maintenance matters.
