We truly love our customers—and especially love the creative ways you show up hauling propane tanks
We can safely say… this one isn’t going anywhere!
BUT, Did you know?
A 100 lb propane cylinder must be transported outside of a vehicle—meaning no sliding it into the back of the old minivan with the dog and heading down the road.
To safely and legally transport a 100 lb cylinder, here’s what you need:
• The tank must have a protective cap or collar (the one pictured has a collar)
• It must be transported upright (in “hot dog” position😂)
• It must be secured in an open-air location such as:
- Truck bed
- Trailer
- a home made hitch-mounted carrier strapped to the back of your Subaru (if you’re reading this no judgement all love😂❤️)
Any safe exterior mount that keeps it outside the passenger compartment
• And finally—it must be properly strapped and secured before leaving
For safety reasons, we are required to visually verify these steps before we can fill any 100 lb cylinder.
We know this is a lot of information, but it all comes down to keeping everyone safe on the road and at home.
