Ok so this one is important! You may be wondering why I would post a pick of a autel maxi elite hooked up to a new 2019 ram with dash board ripped apart? This is because this is how anyone using there scanner will have to bypass there secure gateway they have on all Chrysler/Fiat vehicles from 2018 on and this is a hack they are aware of which will corrected I’m sure. In order to communicate w a Chrysler 2018 and newer you must first have a authorized scan tool and this tool must be registered via the FCA database web sight AUTOAUTH.COM and it is serial number based. So from that point to register the tool there is a $50 annual fee you must pay to FCA not Snap-on annually. Then once you have internet connectivity you can proceed to diagnose and repair these vehicles. This is also an industry wide beginning of this practice. From what I was told Nissan is probably gonna be next soon and I’m sure the rest will follow. I hope this answers the question of why won’t my scan tool connect to any Chrysler over 2017.
