Job Description:
The service writer position covers a vast range of responsibilities. Main responsibilities of this position include: answering phones, scheduling repairs and initial diagnostics, putting together estimates and contacting customers to advise on repairs needed, ordering parts for approved jobs, and writing repair orders. Other responsibilities include: taking payments and closing out tickets, assisting walk-ins, some help in the shop at times (this mainly includes assisting Mike when needed, some light lifting, and bleeding brakes), entering data for parts ordered, and signing for packages and parts delivered. This is a fast paced work environment that often requires multi-tasking abilities and good computer and communication skills. A general understanding of the automotive industry is preferred, training will be provided.
Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma
• 18 Years of Age or Older
• Preferred 2-5 Years minimum of Customer Service Experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Word and Excel
• General understanding of Automotive preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Detail oriented
• Self-motivated
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced work environment
Work Hours:
This is a full-time position. Work week is Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm, with an hour lunch break allowed each day. We are closed New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, half the day Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Vacation days are given after the first year of employment.
