To the untrained eye this will just look like a dirty transmission in need of some help. HOWEVER to the trained eye this is a complete disaster.
I’m ok with guys trying to save money and work on their own Harleys BUT……just put the wrenches down and come see me. I’ve been working on Harley Davidson’s since 1999. I’m worth it at only 85 dollars an hour!!!!!
Try finding more experienced at that price. 😁

Harley Davidson CVO aka “Custom Vehicle Operations”
This division within HD happened during the late 1990’s. HD had a surplus of Evolution engines and an idea that was brilliant but done many times before by large automakers. HD noticed that the Electra Glide Ultra was one of the best sellers in the lineup and people wanted more from HD.
For example GM has a luxury division called Cadillac. Why can’t HD have a luxury division? That’s how the CVO program began. Take the surplus Evo motors and create a limited production product. Marketing wizardry!
Enter the FXR2 then FXR3 and the FXR4. The orange bike pictured below is a FXR4. HD’s first CVO model. This in turn opened up a Pandora’s box of want for these luxury HD models in the future.
It’s neat to study and understand why manufacturers make moves in an effort to create a trend that in turn creates revenue for their stockholders and ups their brand. Look hard enough and you see it happen all the time. Trends are a driving force in industry.
The bikes listed below are coming up for sale at Doerfler’s Moto Supply soon. I personally set up every one of these bikes when they were brand new at Doerflers Harley Davidson and look forward to finding them new homes. They are all extremely low mileage versions of the beginning of Harley Davidsons CVO program.

I was lucky enough to meet the Marine who bravely defended our freedom and lost his legs doing it. His name is Michael Frazier. He wants to enjoy the open road with his family and I truely couldn’t be more proud to help him in his journey. After meeting him I am more motivated than ever. He really is an amazing person with an amazing story.
I’ve almost finished the motor. I’ll keep posting on it as progress is made.

I’m on the hunt for these two decals for the Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man bike build.
The first is an old school 1990 S&S decal. The second one is a 1990’s Harley Davidson Performance decal.
