October is National Energy Awareness Month, and the timing of sharing this series of photos on a special project in our community is no accident.
Our team recently installed six 1,000-gallon propane tanks for Mathews County Public Schools, giving the division 6,000 gallons of capacity to power heat and hot water across its facilities.
Why propane? It's more efficient, and efficiency means savings. Those are dollars a school system can put back into what matters most: its students.
Case in point: Newport News runs half of its school bus fleet on propane. Last year alone that saved the division $439,000 in fuel costs.
We're proud to help keep Mathews County classrooms powered, and to help stretch every education dollar a little further.
