Twenty-five years have passed since September 11, 2001, yet the weight of that day still rests heavy on our hearts. We remember the nearly 3,000 lives taken too soon — mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, friends and colleagues — and we hold space for all who continue to carry that loss.
We remember the courage of ordinary people who became extraordinary in their final moments, and the families who have lived with grief ever since.
But we also remember something else: the hope that emerged from the ashes. The way strangers became neighbors, and neighbors became family. The way a nation — and a world — stood together.
And above all, we give thanks to our first responders — the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and everyday heroes who ran toward danger when every instinct said to run away. Many made the ultimate sacrifice that day, and countless others carry scars we may never see. To those who continue to serve our communities today — who show up every shift, every call, every day — we see you. We thank you. We honor you.
Never forget. But also: never stop being grateful. Never stop being kind. That is how we honor them.
