"Check Your Battery Terminals!"

Corrosion on your battery terminals can cause all kinds of electrical issues—hard starts, dim lights, or even a no-start condition. Pop the hood and take a quick look: if you see white or greenish buildup around the terminals, it's time for a cleaning.

Quick fix:

Disconnect the battery (negative terminal first)

Mix baking soda and water to neutralize the corrosion

Scrub with an old toothbrush or wire brush

Dry thoroughly and reconnect (positive first this time)

For extra protection, apply a bit of dielectric grease or a battery terminal protector

Small maintenance like this keeps your ride running strong and avoids roadside headaches!

This morning, I worked on a 2011 Audi Q5 that was having trouble starting and wouldn’t stay running once it did. After running diagnostics, I found multiple trouble codes, including misfires, running rich, and not getting enough air.

Digging deeper, I inspected the throttle body and found oil inside—often a sign of a faulty PCV valve. Sure enough, after removing and cleaning the PCV valve, the engine started and ran much better. To ensure a lasting fix, we’ll be replacing the PCV valve with a new one.
