Isuzu I-290 2.9 4cyl "Update"
I just haven't been in the mood to deal with Social media regarding the process of this job in the past months, but feeling in a better place now.
Let me fill in the lost time gap, Suggested to pull engine and maybe replace it, Customer just wanted the Cylinder head replaced and do the timing, halfway through the job I Suggest pulling the engine due to learning it had two chains, one on the front and rear, and still he didn't want that done. So I continue and finish installation of Cylinder head, ect.
Fast forward, tried starting it once it was complete, it wouldn't kick at all, did all kinds of test, fuel, ect. Change parts in the charging system, then he Suggested the PCM I'm like I don't believe that's the problem, so I replace it and do all the procedures, the problem with the Isuzu I-290 is that the PCM's are UK based so I can't diagnose the computing system if I tried my Autel can only access USA databases, Hence the reason the forums and repair manual says take it to the dealership.
Then I Suggested a bypass module to bypass the immobilizer a.k.a. passkey via GM/Chevy installed that still didn't kick lol.
The customer finally gave in to me pulling the engine, 😂 in those prior months I did alot of research, in the repair manual on the forums says nothing of a crankshaft position sensor all leads to take to dealership no way buddy lol, I'm thinking that rear timing chain a.k.a. the balancer shaft chain, it's still a timing chain to me, I know it's gotta have a sensor which I would consider to be the crankshaft position sensor, low and behold there is a sensor when that engine touch down on that ground.
Since I'm in there I'm gonna replace all the clutch hydraulic components and clutch assembly.
Get this thing on the engine stand pull the oil pan, then on a bench jam some timing once the parts arrive, in the meantime cleaning parts and prepping.
