Automotive Technology had 3 students compete at the SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Competition, hosted in Grand Island.
Second-Year student Toby Stepanek and First-Year student Jesus Gomez competed in Automotive Service Technology.
First-Year student Elijah Lobner competed in Power Equipment Technology and brought home a silver medal. 🥈

It is Spring Break at CCC Hastings, and the Automotive Technology students are taking time off coursework after a busy 8 week session. Included in the photos are both 1st and 2nd year Automotive Technology Students and some of the projects/tasks they have been working on.

Central Community College Hastings hosted Autodays on February 25th, 2026. Over 150 area high school students attended and visited with current students, industry partners, and instructors.
Following lunch, a student panel answered questions live in front of the area high school students. This panel included 5 Automotive Technology students and 3 Auto Body Technology students.
Special thank you to Madison Levander from Levander's Body Shop for being our guest speaker and talking about Levander's and how it started!
Thank you to our first- and second-year students for helping out with activities as well.

First year Automotive students finished up Heating, Ventillation, and Air Conditioning class last week.

Everyone in the class received their Section 609 license! The Section 609 license is a certification required for technicians who service Motor Vehicle Air Conditioning (MVAC) systems. This ensures technicians are trained in the proper procedures for recovery, recycling, and disposal of refrigerants used in these systems.

AUTO 1800/1850/2800 Courses just finished up for the first 8 weeks of this Spring Semester, and we wanted to give an update on what this first year group has been up to. This class (class of 2026) is the first to complete Hunter University Certifications, through the Hunter Engineering Training Program. This includes Tire balancer and changer, Alignment fundamentals and Steering Angle Sensor training. They also completed the Pro-Cut Level 1 Training for On-Car Brake Lathe. Also completed so far this semester was the NC3 Certification for the Snap-On TPMS5 tool. Tires, wheels, steering, suspension, alignment, and disc/drum brakes were all covered this last 8 weeks. After Spring break, it is on to HVAC and Body Control Systems to close out the semester!

🟥 Total Hunter University Certifications Completed- 125
🟨 Total Pro-Cut Level One Certifications Completed- 25
🟦 Total NC3 TPMS5 Certifications Completed- 25

Central Community College - Hastings hosted AutoDays on Wednesday February 26th. We had 105 high school students and 20 industry partners join the Automotive Technology and Auto Body Technology programs.
Students witnessed some hands-on activities that both programs are involved in, and talked to various dealerships, independent shops, and organizations about jobs and employment opportunities.
There was a student panel including students in Automotive Technology and Auto Body Technology. These students were asked various questions and answered live before the students.
