This 1956 Ford Fairlane is a rare find. With a 351 Windsor automatic transmission, it's a true classic. As a southern vehicle, it has minimal rust. Locals may have spotted it at Gilmore's on Wednesday nights. We're asking $23,500 or considering reasonable offers.

We are taking applications for another Head Mechanic position to work along side Dan.
As Head Mechanic you would be responsible for the overall maintenance, repair, and operation of vehicles and equipment, including supervision of other mechanics and the maintenance of the shop.

-Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with vehicles. This includes identifying mechanical and electrical issues, performing repairs, and ensuring proper operation.
- Conduct shop equipment repairs and maintenance as needed. This includes tools, machinery, and other equipment used for repairs.
- Collaborate with service technicians to ensure efficient and timely repairs.

-After repairs, the Head Mechanic must test the vehicle to ensure it functions correctly.

-Ensuring the workshop and employees comply with safety regulations.

-Providing training to other mechanics or operators on new equipment or procedures.

Qualifications:
- At least 5 years experience as an automotive mechanic or technician.

-Motor Vehicle Mechanic Certified in the following areas:

-Front End and Steering

-Engine Repair

-Heating and A/C

-Brakes and Braking System

- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with automotive repair.
- Experience with welding is a plus.
- The ability to quickly diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, along with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, is crucial.

-Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with customers, other mechanics, and management.

Gilbert’s Maxi Muffler & Service

On February 14, 2020 Dan and I became the proud owners of the already established business “Maxi Muffler Plus”. Cody and Lorie, owners of Maxi Muffler Plus approached us one day, about purchasing their business. After 17 years they were ready for a new adventure. For Dan it was a no brainer. There was nothing more he wanted then to own his own shop. We recently built a huge pole barn and installed a lift in it at home, as this is what he wanted to do once he retired from BCN of 33 years. For me, I was also excited, but knew it would be a lot of work as I was not going to be quiting my career of 27 years with the Federal Government. We sat down my my daughter, Brea Madden, and asked if she would be interested in working for us and assisting with some of the book work and of course whatever else Dan was willing to train her on. It has only been a month, but she is working out great. Dan has told me he is glad she is working there as it gives them time to spend together.

We were also very excited to know that their mechanics, Steve Gary, and Peter Beaudoin would be staying on. And hopefully James continues on full time once he finishes up his training.

My only request from Dan through this whole purchase was to find a way to give back to our Veterans. Being a veteran myself, 9 years active duty Army, I feel it is very important to show our appreciation for the sacrifices they have made. So if you are a veteran or still actively serving, bring us a copy of your ID card and/or DD Form 214 just for verification purposes (we will not be making a copy) and we will take 10% off parts. We will make a note on your account for next time.

This is a new adventure for us, but we are both very excited. We hope you will give us a try as we have so many services to offer.
