B**r, or the Possibility Thereof…

The days are getting shorter, the air is getting colder, and we're approaching that time of year when standing outside drinking b**r becomes less of a leisurely pursuit and more of a test of personal conviction.

We have several opportunities for you to demonstrate that conviction.

Thursday, October 15 | Harvard General Store | 5–8 PM

The good people at the Harvard General Store are hosting their final Thursdays on the Common event of the season, and they've graciously invited us to participate in the festivities.

We'll be pouring samples of Requiem and Uncle Mic, two b**rs that have very little in common beyond their place of origin, and our unwavering belief that you ought to try them.

The General Store will also have Uncle Mic and Requiem available should a modest sample leave you with ambitions of a more substantial nature.

Sunday, October 18 | Loyal Foe | 10 AM–2 PM

We'll be opening our doors for cans to go. Four hours of straightforward commerce conducted between consenting adults who understand the value of a properly refrigerated beverage. Come get some.

Sunday, October 25 | Westward Orchards | Noon–5 PM

Our final pouring event of the season. Five glorious hours among the apples before we surrender the outdoors to the increasingly unreasonable demands of New England weather.

There may be a secret tap.

There may also not be a secret tap.

If there is a secret tap, it won't appear on the menu. If there isn't a secret tap, it also won't appear on the menu. Thus, the menu provides precisely zero useful information about the existence of said tap.

Schrödinger had his cat. We have a keg.

Do you like apples?

Well, we got a rain date approved for our previously canceled event at Westward Orchards. We’ll be back on Sunday, October 25, from noon to 5 PM.

SO, HOW DO YOU LIKE THEM APPLES?

We’re going to assume that if you’re still reading this far, you do, in fact, like those apples. And frankly, we respect that. An apple is a magnificent piece of engineering. Portable. Nutritious. Comes with its own packaging. Requires neither batteries nor a monthly subscription. A triumph of nature that humanity has somehow managed to improve upon by dipping it in caramel, baking it into pies, and occasionally fermenting it.

But we’re getting ahead of ourselves.

It’s October in New England, which means otherwise rational adults are overcome by a primal urge to surround themselves with apples, pumpkins, c***r donuts, and decorative gourds of increasingly questionable utility.

For a few glorious weeks, everything smells like cinnamon, every beverage contains some variation of the word “spice,” and no front porch is complete without a collection of large orange vegetables destined to become a science experiment.

Fortunately, the fine folks at Westward Orchards have mastered the art of autumn, and we’re delighted to contribute the one thing nature, in all its infinite wisdom, neglected to grow on trees.

B**r.

THIS SUNDAY: AN AGRICULTURAL EXTRAVAGANZA

October 11 | Noon–5 PM | Westward Orchards

We’ll be pouring b**r at Westward Orchards this Sunday, where you can partake in the time-honored traditions of a proper New England autumn.

Pick some apples. Find the perfect pumpkin. Eat a c***r donut. Eat another c***r donut because the first one was clearly a quality-control sample and scientific integrity demands replication.

Then come have a b**r.

We’ll also have fresh cans of Uncle Mic available to go, because we believe a successful day of gathering provisions should conclude with something that required an unreasonable amount of stainless steel and a small army of microscopic organisms to produce.

OCTOBER 25: THE LAST STAND

Sunday, October 25 | Noon–5 PM | Westward Orchards

Our previously canceled event has officially been rescheduled!

A sincere thank you to the fine folks at Westward Orchards for giving us another shot, and a slightly less sincere thank you to Mother Nature, whose contributions to our event planning have been neither helpful nor requested.

We’ll be returning with fresh b**r, renewed optimism, and the quiet confidence of people who have absolutely no control over the circumstances determining their success.

Of course, predicting New England weather in October is a fool’s errand. One minute you’re enjoying a beautiful autumn afternoon, the next you’re scraping frost off your windshield while being attacked by mosquitoes.

We’re choosing to believe the weather will cooperate this time, despite having absolutely zero evidence to support that conclusion.

October 25. Noon to 5 PM. Westward Orchards.

Come for the apples. Stay for the b**r. Leave with an unreasonable quantity of c***r donuts and absolutely no regrets.

What's the haps?

Some b**rs know exactly what they want to be. Others take the long way around. Our newest release began with a simple idea, wandered into unfamiliar territory, and ended up somewhere we never expected. We think you're going to enjoy the destination.

You'll get your first chance to discover what we've been working on at Westward Orchards, where we'll be pouring the new release for the very first time. Afterward, stop by the brewery to stock up on fresh cans to take home.

Harvard is famous for apples. But did you know it also has alpacas? We know the rule of three calls for one more "A," but we'll leave the alliterative allegations about us until after your first pint.

Harvard Alpaca Ranch will be bringing a few of their alpacas to Westward Orchards from noon to 3 p.m. Stop by and say hello!
