A family owned business formed in 1967 by Bobby & Coleen Thompson. In 1985 their son David became a full time employee. Thompson Service Center has been serving Harrodsburg and the surrounding areas offering: Towing & roadside assistance, automotive repair (foreign & domestic), computer diagnostics. brakes, tire/wheel alignment and many more services. In May 2011 TSC opened a new facility at 200 North Chiles Street (near the city fire department, court house & public library)

Before and after. Brake pads and rotors are two of the most critical safety components on your vehicle, and both wear down over time with normal use.

Common signs of a worn brake rotor:
• Squealing, grinding, or scraping noises when braking
• Pulsing or vibration in the brake pedal
• Steering wheel shaking during braking (especially with front rotors)
• Visible grooves or scoring on the rotor surface
• Longer stopping distances
• Excessive rust or a rough, pitted surface

If you’re noticing any of these, don’t wait. Fresh pads and a fresh rotor mean a safer stop.

One glance at the sticker we put on every car tells you when you’re due back (i.e., check your mileage), and tells us exactly what your car needs when you get here.

Fun fact: if your sticker ever says “ROT,” our staff knows that means a tire ROTation next visit. Not an insult, we promise.

Every vehicle that comes in for service gets its tires gauged. That’s how we caught this one, low pressure led us right to the culprit.

Can’t make it to the shop? At least check these before you hit the road:

🛞 Tire pressure and tread - look for low or uneven tires, use the penny test (Lincoln’s head down, if you see all of it, tires are worn)
💡 Lights - walk around the car with headlights, brake lights, and blinkers on
💧 Wiper blades - look for cracked or torn rubber
⚠️ Any warning lights on the dash - if one’s on, don’t wait, get it looked at
