Happy Monday! We are about a week away from opening – looking like Monday or Tuesday next week depending on the weather. With the exception of the two greens a dear sweet person decided to run a side by side over this winter (which we replaced sod on the damaged areas this past weekend) the greens are in great shape and last year’s renovations paid off. It’s an unbelievable turnaround.

Any 2024 seasonal passholder will be good through June 24th this year. The campground project is in its final stages on the Springport side. The new greens over there are still several months away from being ready. The available Springport holes will be free to play as warm up/practice holes for any seasonal passholder. We will post on here and our website when we are ready to open. Thanks, and see you soon!

We remain closed for repairs. We’ve moved thousands of plugs and pallets of sod for the greens and tee boxes. Several greens and tee boxes have been fully resodded. We are still waiting for the greens to grow in fully, and we remain closed. We considered opening with the greens at 80 or 90 percent, but the majority voice of that idea was to not do it, but to wait until the greens were 100 percent. We will update here if we decide to open this season.

Looking for your input. Our plan was to wait until the Loggers side greens were all ready before we opened. However, we’ve received some messages saying we should open some of the holes while we wait for the others. But, we’ve also had a person say he doesn’t want to jump around. We have 5 holes on Springport that are ready to go and unaffected by the RV development. We have 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 15, 18 on the Loggers side ready to go. We are thinking $25 for 9 holes or play as many as you want for $35. Seasonal passholders from last year pay only for the cart. What do you think? Comment below or email your thoughts. Thanks!

As we mentioned before, beginning last fall we started moving plugs for the greens, removing dead spots, seeding and top dressing. We’ve moved thousands of plugs and pallets of sod for the greens and tee boxes. Several tee boxes have been fully resodded. We’ve had a crew of about 5 people working on the greens for the last two months. They brought in ice shanties to put on the greens to stop the wind while they worked when it was really cold.

We are working on getting the new Springport holes finished as the development on that side takes shape. However, the growing has been slowed by this very late spring up north. The grass on the greens is just starting to grow. Thus, we are at least two weeks from opening and are crossing our fingers for May 31/June 1.

Unfortunately, it does not look like the greens will be ready for Memorial Day Weekend. We will update the website and Facebook with updates and when we are ready to open.

We hope everyone had a great winter. We plan to have 9 holes open within the next two to three weeks. We will post here once we are open. Since October we’ve moved a lot of sod and over 2,000 plugs for the greens. We need a few weeks of nice weather for this to grow in. Due to the ongoing construction on the Springport side, seasonal passes from last year will roll over to this year until we are further down the road. See you soon!

In appreciation of our great customers, we are hosting a free yearend scramble on Saturday October 12 beginning at 9:30 am. Space is limited to the first 12 teams. Please email us at [email protected] to reserve your four-person team’s spot. There is no charge, and the only requirement is that you must have golfed at the course at least once this year. There will be hotdogs at the turn and optional skins and closest to the pin.

The calendar says Spring, but Michiganders know better... we hope to be open middle to end of April as soon as the weather allows. We will post to our website and Facebook once we are open. Loggers Trace is an 18-hole course that is nestled in and out of wooded terrain offering large elevation changes and great views of Lake Huron. Springport is our 9-hole course with challenging greens.

The Loggers back 9 will be closed beginning September 17 for aeration. You will still be able to play 18 holes but it will start on the Springport side. Thanks for understanding!
