While catching back up on all repairs I had in, I didn’t get much time to picture my work for every one so I apologize in advance. I am finally back on track with everyone currently coming in so everything will be in and out again↪️🙌🏼
I also didn’t get many pictures of this bike’s work due to the rushing of time as stated above❗️
This 2005 KX250F was brought in originally for 3 things which included a front fork suspension rebuild, lowering kit installment for rider, and valve cover gasket replacement. After getting those done, customer wanted me to quickly look over bike to make sure it was good to go.
Once I did so, came to find out it had loads of problems, and not small ones either❌
I found it had extremely low compression (I could push the kick starter over by hand) to the point where it simply wouldn’t even start. I tore the top end apart and found the cylinder was scored and the head was severely warped.
Once I replaced the cylinder and head and got it started, I then found out the cluch was completely worn out in which it would stall when put into gear. I pulled the cluch basket and plates out to find the plates were worn and the basket had deep notches in it beyond repair.
I also found while I was in there that the inner cluch case had been welded with cracks spreading past the welds.
While the cases were split, customer decided she wanted a new crank installed. Since I was already going through the work, she also decided she just wanted a bottom end rebuild with fresh gaskets, bearings, and seals. Doing so, I as well had to replace the water pump shaft due to scoring and the carb due to corrosion, (I couldn’t even get the jets removed).
Lastly, I finished it up by replacing the break pads, clutch cable, and chain.
Now with the bike fully rebuilt after initially coming in for a few minor repairs, it’s ready to take after tracks how it used to in its younger years again🛞💨🔥
Appreciate doing business Jay✅
