first came up with the concept of backdating a 964 in 2004. A ‘90 964 C4 was purchased in 2004 for $12K and the journey of converting it into a steel long hood ‘73 RSR look started The car used steel front and rear early turbo fender flares and a steel long hood. It went back to H4s and the early lights both front and rear. The C4’s front fenders were adapted to look like the early RSR, cutting out the signal light section and weld them in the C4 fender, along with the bottom section of the fender. The rear turbo fenders would be made to look more like the original RSR. The C4RSR was sold in 2006 for $50,000. A lot has been learned in the past 22 years since they first started doing backdates. Many things have changed and we’ll probably never see those prices again!
