ORS 811.147—Oregon’s Move Over Law—requires drivers to:
👮 Move over to a non-adjacent lane when approaching a stopped vehicle displaying hazard or warning lights.
👮If you can’t safely move over, slow down by at least 5 mph below the speed limit.

Failing to slow down or move over is dangerous, deadly—and it’s illegal. Next time you see those flashing lights on the roadside, remember: Slow Down. Move Over. Save Lives.

***PEDESTRIAN CROSSING OPERATION SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER 29***

The Canby Police Department will be conducting a Pedestrian Safety Operation on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 29th. The operation will take place at a marked crosswalk at S IVY ST and SE 3RD AVE.

The primary focus of this detail is to raise pedestrian safety awareness. Through the use of a decoy pedestrian, the Canby Police Department hopes to raise the awareness of drivers and pedestrians through education and enforcement of pedestrian right of way laws. Pedestrians are reminded to wear bright colors and pay attention to the traffic flow when preparing to cross the road. Pedestrians are also required to obey any traffic control device that directs the pedestrian's movement.
