Elsie: the Last Call service car

Elsie: the Last Call service car 1954 Meteor Pontiac Funeral Service Car. This Service Car was built during an interesting transitional time for the Meteor Motor Car Company.

It had served Hicks Funeral Home in Frederick MD till the 1970s. Quite possibly the last of it's kind.

Well, we are now a two hearse family. We were not looking for another one, it found us. We were approached at a car show and got to talking. He mentioned he had a hearse project for sale right down the street. We went to look at it after the show and agreed we didn't need another project. Today we brought that project home.

We are still researching what it exactly is but are pretty confident it's a 1926 Studebaker. Coach builder... To be determined.

So now begs the question... What shall we call it? We have a couple names in mind but we want to know what your thoughts are. What would you name it?

We know we've been a little quiet. My sister Becky passed away earlier this month on the 11th. Today we took the day to celebrate her life, to be with family, and friends. She was my first best friend, my first protector, and my first cheerleader.

We are still here. We will begin to post our progress and adventures again soon, but for now we need a little time. For now, this day is for you. This isn't goodbye, this is until I see you again.

On day 2 of Hearsemania, at the end of our day in Lily Dale we had the opportunity to line these three ladies up to take some beautiful photos. Here is a few more pictures we got to sift through from the weekend. This was from Friday night's dinner. We watched them roll in and enjoyed a beautiful sunset at Lake Erie. Before we called it a day we took our first pictures with Lilith! It was an amazing end to the first day.
