Today I had the honor of helping Charles McFarland, a Vietnam War veteran.

Charles served our country during one of the most difficult times in our nation’s history. Like many veterans, his service didn’t end when he came home — it shaped a lifetime of strength, resilience, and quiet courage. A few years ago, he lost his wife, and yet through all that life has placed in front of him, he continues forward with grace.

Today I had the privilege of helping James Legore purchase his new 2025 Ford Bronco, and his story deserves to be shared.

James works for a company that PG&E depends on during power outages. When much of California is in the dark, he’s often on the road—traveling wherever he’s needed to help restore electricity. Because of people like James, families are able to return to warm homes, lights turn back on, and life can get back to normal.

He doesn’t ask for recognition, but I believe it’s important to acknowledge the people who quietly keep our communities running.

James, thank you for the work you do and for trusting me with your purchase. It was truly an honor to help you.
