NEW ENGLAND LIFESAVING CHAMPIONSHIPS TODAY AT HAMPTON BEACH - Hampton Beach is hosting the 2026 New England Lifesaving Championships today.

It is where some of the best lifeguards in New England will compete in a full day of exciting events that test the speed, strength, endurance, and teamwork required to save lives.

Watch competitors race across the sand, paddle through the surf, swim in the ocean, and take on a variety of rescue-based challenges-all while Hampton Beach's lifeguards defend their New England championship title!

Always great to see the horses out. 😎🐴

Did you know the Hampton Police Mounted Unit has patrolled the Beach since 1981? Our horses go through a lot of training to prepare for large crowds, fireworks, and mounted police patrols. Our riders undergo training to prepare them for proper care of the horses as well as patrol techniques. You may see us out and about doing some training as we prepare our newest horses.

Say hello next time you see them out on the beach!
