Timing belts and chains both keep your engine's valves and pistons in sync, but they operate very differently. Belts are quieter and less expensive to replace initially, but have a shorter lifespan. Chains are more durable and last longer, but can be noisier and more expensive to repair. Do you know which one your car uses?
