🚗 A Quick Note About Vehicle Drop-Off Etiquette

We want to address something that doesn’t come up often, but when it does, it can create a real problem for our shop.

When you drop your vehicle off with us for repairs, we do NOT expect it to be spotless or freshly detailed. We understand real life happens. Kids have toys in the floor, jackets get tossed in the backseat and sometimes there’s just stuff in your vehicle. That’s not what we’re talking about.

We’re talking about vehicles being dropped off in unsanitary conditions: old or rotting food, spilled drinks that have been sitting, excessive trash, sticky food residue, insects, or other conditions that can attract pests. We have actually had vehicles brought to us in the past that were bad enough that we could not begin repairs until they were cleaned.

Here’s why it matters:

During collision repair, we may have to remove a door, liftgate, glass, interior panels, or other parts that temporarily leave portions of your vehicle exposed. Vehicles also have to be moved in and out of the shop throughout the repair process. We work hard to keep our facility clean and control insects and pests, but we are still a working body shop and there is an open field behind our property.

Food, trash, and unsanitary conditions inside a vehicle can attract insects or rodents and create a risk not only to your vehicle, but to other customers’ vehicles and our facility as well.

Because of that, going forward, if a vehicle is dropped off in a condition that we believe is unsanitary or could attract pests, repairs may be delayed until the vehicle is cleaned. The owner will have the option to pick the vehicle up and clean it themselves, or we can arrange to have it cleaned at the vehicle owner’s expense before repairs begin.

Again, we’re not asking anyone to detail their vehicle before bringing it to us. We’re simply asking that it be reasonably clean, sanitary and free of excessive food and trash.

We take pride in our shop and in taking care of every vehicle entrusted to us. A little consideration at drop-off helps us protect your vehicle, our employees, our facility and everyone else’s property while it’s here.

Thank you for understanding and helping us keep Knights Autobody a clean and professional place to work. ❤️

Just another Wednesday at Knights. 🔧

Cars coming apart, parts going back together, somebody looking for the tool they just had ... 😂 and another busy day in the shop.

There's a whole lot that happens between, "I dropped my vehicle off" and "Your vehicle is ready!"

We thought we'd start showing y'all a little more of that part, too.

We share plenty of the pretty finished pictures - but this right here is where the work gets done.

Good morning from the crew at Knights! ☀

Family owned. Community driven.

Okay, Knights people ... we've got a goal. 👀

There are currently 1,242 of y'all following our page and we want to see if we can get to 1,500! 👏🏼

That means we need 258 more people to join us over here.

So we're calling in a little help from the people who already support us. ❤️

Share our page. Invite your friends. Tell someone about us.

Whether you follow us for the cars, the behind-the-scenes shop stuff, our Saturday giveaways, the occasional nonsense 😂 or because you've trusted us with your own vehicle, we appreciate every single one of you.

No giveaway attached to this one. We just want to see what our people can do. 😉

1,242 ➡ 1,500

Think we can get there?! 👀👏🏼

KNIGHTS QUICK TIP 🚗💥

"It still runs ... so can I just drive it?"

We hear some version of this pretty often after an accident and here's the thing: a vehicle being able to run doesn't necessarily mean it's safe to drive.

Once we start taking a vehicle apart, there can be a whole lot more going on behind that bumper, fender or headlight than you could see from the outside.

There could be damaged or loose parts, something rubbing a tire, leaking fluids, damaged cooling components, broken lights or other issues that make driving it a bad idea.

Sometimes the damage really IS mostly cosmetic. Sometimes it isn't. The important part is knowing the difference.

So if you've been in an accident and you're standing there thinking, " Well ... it'll still drive," don't be afraid to call and ask us before you head down the road. We'd much rather help you make that call than see a small problem turn into a bigger one.

Running and roadworthy aren't always the same thing. 😉

Another one back where it belongs - on the road. 🙌🏼

We finished up this Ford Expedition for Josh & Sarah Barley last week and it turned out nice! 👏🏼

One of our favorite parts of this job is seeing a vehicle sitting out front finished and knowing that what came into the shop needing repairs is leaving looking like it was never here in the first place. That's always the goal. 🖤

Josh & Sarah, we sure appreciate y'all for choosing Knights to take care of it!

🗒 INSURANCE THINGS EXPLAINED 🗒

Here's one little box on your insurance policy that may not seem very important ... until your vehicle is in the body shop.

☑Rental coverage.

We see it all the time - someone has good coverage on their vehicle, but when it's time for repairs, they find out they either don't have rental coverage at all or their policy only pays a certain amount per day or up to a certain total limit.

And collision repairs don't always happen overnight.

Parts can take time. Supplements may need approval. Hidden damage can be discovered once repairs begin. Sometimes, a vehicle simply has to be here longer than anyone expected.

Without rental coverage, those days can turn into a pretty expensive out-of-pocket expense.

So here's your Monday reminder from the body shop side of things:

Call your insurance agent and ask what your rental coverage actually looks like.
☑ Do you have it?
☑ What's your daily limit?
☑ Whats the maximum amount your policy will pay?

It may only take a few minutes to find out and you'll be glad you knew the answer before you actually needed it.

We dont sell insurance. 😂 We just see firsthand how much the right coverage can matter when something does happen.

🚗💰SATURDAY QUESTION💰🚗

Alright, we're giving you $7,000 ... but there's a catch! 👀😂

Every penny has to be spent on the vehicle you currently drive.

You can't trade it in.
You can't put the money toward another vehicle.
You also can't pocket the cash, that's not an option here. 🙃

So ... what are you doing to your ride with $7,000?

🛞New wheels & tires?
🎨 Fresh paint?
🔊Sound system?
⬆ Lift or leveling kit?
💺Interior upgrades?
✨Tint, accessories or something completely different?

Tell us how you're spending it in the comments! 👇🏽

One lucky person who answers will be randomly chosen to win a Knights Autobody prize!

Let's see who can spend our imaginary money the fastest! 😂😎
