GOLF CART BUILDER
JOB SUMMARY
Prepare stock golf cars to be sold, including building, customizing, repairing, maintaining, and servicing (gas and electric). Complete paper work to accurately track what was added to the golf car. Once a golf car is sold, customize, build and repair golf cars to customer specifications. Work closely with the Sales and Service staff to ensure accuracy, parts are ordered, and delivery deadlines are met.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Disassemble and rebuild golf cars, to include servicing the car, cleaning or repairing the frame, replacing parts, installing parts according to the work order specifications
• Install/remove golf car tires, windshields, mirrors, seats, roofs and other accessories, etc. Repair tires.
• Battery jobs: remove, test and clean old batteries; clean, repair and paint battery racks; install new batteries and cables
• Electrical work such as installing stereos, lights, horns, battery cables, etc.
• Golf car repairs, routine maintenance, charging
• Work closely with the sales and service staff to adhere to delivery schedule for golf cars purchased
• Complete service/parts paperwork, to track customization and repairs done to stock cars
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Stock parts, tires, batteries, including unloading the delivery trucks
• Test drive showroom golf cars; determine needed repairs and maintenance
• Keep showroom and work area clean and organized, such as rearranging golf cars, cutting up cardboard, organizing parts, sweeping, etc.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
• At least 1 year experience building or repairing vehicles (golf cars, boats, automobiles, etc.)
• Must be able to operate the following: golf car, pressure washer, air impact, hand held tools, golf car programmers
• Must be able to work with a wide range of coworkers and support a team environment
• MUST BE MECHANICALLY INCLINED, DETAIL ORIENTED, SELF-MOTIVATED, EFFICIENT, ORGANIZED, adhere to deadlines, and able to manage builds/service work on multiple golf cars; multi-task
• It is helpful to possess your own tools, but not mandatory
• Must be able to push a non-running golf car onto and off a trailer and into the service area
• Must be able to lift 60 pounds repeatedly (batteries, motors, etc.), tolerate loud noises and work in outdoor weather conditions
