The baby season is officially here. Here's the current status:

✅ ALREADY BORN:
- Great Horned Owl chicks — 3-5 days old, downy white fuzz
- Gray Squirrel babies — First litters emerging from nests
- Bald Eagle chicks — Hatching in southern states
- Some Cottontail litters — Very early, just starting

🤰 PREGNANT (Babies Coming Soon):
- Red Fox — ~2 weeks until kits
- Striped Skunk — ~8-9 weeks
- Raccoon — ~6-7 weeks
- Coyote — ~5-6 weeks

🥚 EGGS INCUBATING:
- Bald Eagles — Many still incubating
- Great Blue Herons — Colonies active
- Early Red-tailed Hawks — Starting soon

📅 UPCOMING:
- More owl hatching (Barred, Screech) — March
- Robin nesting — Mid-March
- Bluebird nesting — Late March

WHY THIS MATTERS:
- Don't seal entry points now (babies inside)
- Keep cats indoors (vulnerable fledglings)
- Drive carefully at dawn/dusk (mothers crossing)
- Check before mowing (rabbit nests in grass)

Firefighter Edward Marbet
Burlington Township Fire Department, Station 301. Burlington, NJ
Firefighter Marbet was alerted to a working fire in his own residence. Despite heavy fire and smoke conditions, and without the protection of turnout gear, Firefighter Marbet rescued his father and fiancée from inside the structure. A neighboring residence notified Emergency Services by a 911 call. After the rescues were made, all indications are that Marbet remained inside the structure in attempt to extinguish the fire. Unfortunately, prior to the arrival of his colleagues, Marbet succumbed to the heat and smoke conditions and his body was found on the second floor of his residence by the Burlington Township Fire Department.

What's on my mind Facebook asks?

I'll will share an email I got today.

"Team:

Twenty-four years ago, our world changed forever. Thousands of lives were lost. Of those losses 343 firefighters and 60 police officers died. And a little-known fact to the public is 15 EMTs and Paramedics were killed in the twin towers. The legacy of those lost remains alive in our hearts and in the enduring commitment of those who continue to serve with courage, honor and selflessness.

Everyone old enough, can tell you exactly where they were and what they were doing on 9-11 when the acts of terrorism occurred. For Endeavor, 15 of our members responded to Jersey City then New York City to take part in the rescue efforts.

Those members were: Roy Barkewich, Ron Devlin, Brian Ekelburg, Jim Lowrie, Matt Mercuri, Tom Orr, Shaun Powell, Mike Scafiro, Keith Scully, Mark Slifko, Rick Smith, Chris Snyder, Steve Toughill, Carolyn Webster and Eric Willets.

From the depths of tragedy arose a new strength and unwavering determination to stand united and a renewed purpose to support those who never hesitate to answer the call of duty.

The Endeavor has a long tradition of dedicated service to our communities and beyond. The officers of the Endeavor appreciate your commitment and professionalism now and in the future.
