So silly. This particular engine a Nissan 4.0 is nearly dead. The solution is such an easy and age old preventative fix. Change your oil!!!!!!!!!!!!! And Check it!! Seriously Maui! I see so much damage all the time from those of you who just run the stuff into he ground.

Wrench is not a magic healer.

Help me help you have this not happen to you.

Preventative !!Check and change your oil as described in your manual.

I'll even give you one better. While you are pumping gas check your oil level. If you are 500 miles over due on an oil change, not a big deal. If you are 10,000 miles over due it's a big deal.

Oil , like blood coagulates , turns into a particulate (doo doo) that you can't undo. This in my 21 years of doing this places #2. It's sad to me. It is perhaps beyond repair. Do not let this happen to you!!

How the nice guy with the cheap brake job just fu**ed you and your car.

I see this all too often. The phone rings . I answer . "How much for brakes?"

"On a lite passenger truck or car the answer is typically about $500 give or take per front or rear axle."

"That's too much"
would be customer hangs up.

Would be customer gets the $150 brake job. Here is what it looks like.

Pads where obviously just replaced with the cheapest s**t in town.

Rotors where shot completely.

Brake fluid ? As long as it's topped off its ok right?

Pad to caliper surface ? What's that?

Caliper slides? Absolutely not addressed, cleaned , lubed, or checked for actual function .

Was the proper release sequence followed? I absolutely guarantee not.

Why those extended oil change intervals are total BS! Very very expensive repair. Also good reminder of why you should check your oil very regularly .
