Had a customer call about their SVL97-2 running really rough and randomly shutting off while operating.

First thing we did was start at the fuel system. Checked the 90s on the filter housing and found the inlet was completely stopped up with debris, restricting fuel flow.

We talked it over with the customer and recommended a full fuel system clean-out, and they gave us the go-ahead.

• Drained the fuel tank
• Removed the floorboard and pulled the tank
• Blew out all fuel lines going to the filter housing
• Replaced both fuel filters
• Fully cleaned out the tank and made sure all debris was gone

After putting everything back together and adding fresh fuel, we fired it up and the machine is now running exactly like it should—no more rough running or random shutdowns.

Another machine back up and ready to work.

Customer called in saying their machine was running rough, so we headed out onsite to get it figured out.

After diagnosing the issue, we found the fuel filter housing had a crack at the inlet fitting, causing it to suck air into the system. We ordered a new housing assembly and got it replaced, and just like that the machine is back to running like it should.

While going through everything, we also noticed the machine was still running on the original sprockets and they were well past due for replacement. Got new ones picked up and installed, saving the customer from a bigger problem down the road.

Now the machine is 100% and ready to get back to work.

Back up and running 💪

Got the Caterpillar 259D3 taken care of from Friday’s call. Machine originally had a no-start issue after the customer installed a new battery. We dug into it and found the starter was bad and needed to be replaced as well. So we had it sent out and rebuilt, then installed it and now the machine is running and operating properly.

Downtime costs money, and we know how important it is to get your equipment moving again fast. If your skid steer, excavator, or truck is giving you problems, we’ve got you covered.
