🛞 Tire Safety Made Simple — No Measurements Needed
The penny test is an easy way to check your tire tread without tools or measurements.
Insert a penny into the tread with Lincoln’s head upside down and facing you.
🟢 Lincoln’s head is completely hidden
Your tread is good.
🟡 Lincoln’s forehead is showing
Your tread is getting low. It may be time to schedule a tire rotation to extend tire life or start budgeting ahead for replacements.
🔴 ALL of Lincoln’s head is visible
Your tread is too low to safely drive, especially on wet Gulf Coast roads. You should schedule a tire replacement ASAP — this is now a traction and stopping-distance issue.
⚠️ Uneven wear?
That usually means:
* Tire pressure problems
* Alignment drifting
* Early suspension wear
* Improper after-market modifications
Those issues can cause tires to wear out much faster, costing more long-term.
A scheduled tire and alignment check helps catch these early.
