Bad news for our loyal customers who purchase split units from us. The Houston warehouse has gone up on their prices so we will have to share that with our clients. We will try and make it as fair as possible and if you are on this pick up you will get our listed price.

A typical day for a tree business involves assessing client needs. Client: Can you provide a bid for removing two trees, one over my house and the other in a power line? Rod: I'll stop by after work, around 6 pm, to evaluate the project. Upon arrival, Rod determines the necessary equipment, including a bucket truck, tractor or skid-steer loader with trailer, dump trailer, saws, chains, rakes, buckets, gloves, tools, one arborist, and two ground hands. Rod quotes $2,000 for the removal, cleanup, and haul-off, estimating an eight-hour project. Client: The Mexican guy down the way quoted a lower price. Rod cautions: While you may save some money, he lacks insurance, is likely unauthorized to work here, and poses a significant risk of damaging your property, which you'll have to recover yourself. Client: When can you start? Business costs for this single tree job include fuel ($400), labor costs ($480 for three guys working eight hours, excluding Rod), saws, chains, oil, and extras ($200), dump fees ($250), and insurance on all equipment, business, and liability ($100). The total out-of-pocket expense is around $1,500, excluding Rod's compensation and equipment use. When considering the price, remember that cheaper options may not be the best choice.
