🍁 FALL CAR FACT: Your tire pressure changes with the temperature. 🛞
Happy First Day of Fall!

Here’s something you may notice as those cool Iowa mornings start rolling in: your tire pressure light suddenly comes on.
Why?

🌡️ As the outside temperature drops, the air inside your tires contracts, causing tire pressure to decrease. A common rule of thumb is that tire pressure can change by about 1 PSI for every 10°F change in temperature.

That means a tire that seemed perfectly fine during warmer weather may suddenly be running low once those chilly mornings arrive.

And proper tire pressure matters! It can affect:
🛞 How evenly your tires wear
🚗 How your vehicle handles
⛽ Fuel efficiency
🛑 Braking and overall road safety

Fall tip: Check your tire pressure when the tires are cold and use the recommended PSI listed on the sticker inside your driver’s door, not the maximum PSI printed on the tire itself.
