Father-son duo Rob and Robbie Bauman make up the team at Bauman Motorsports. What is now a third generation program, starting with Robās father Leroy in the 1960(s), has continued today where Rob and his oldest son Robbie both compete at local racing venues in the Central Illinois region.
Having fielded both Late Models and Modifieds over the years, Bauman Motorsports shifted focus solely to Modifieds for the 2026 season.
Rob Sr.ās career began in 1979 when he first began racing at the Peoria (Ill.) Speedway. In 1982, he was the Sportsman Champion at Peoria Speedway. He is also a two-time track champion at Spoon River Speedway, where he won the E-Mod Points championship in 2001 and 2002. Today, Rob is found driving the #30 B-Mod at Peoria and Spoon River Speedway.
Robbieās career started in 1997 when he first began racing go karts. He transitioned from Go Karts to stock cars in 2001. Having competed in both Late Model and Modifieds as well as go karts , Robbie has seen success in all avenues of his career. Perhaps his most memorable win was in 2006 when he won the Tuff Spoon 100 at Spoon River Speedway.
Since 2008, Rob and Robbie have called Peoria Speedway their home track. Robbie competed in the Steel Block / Limited Late Model division while Rob ran Modifieds. A few years later, both were competing in the Steel Block division together. Robbie piloted a late model for almost 20 years before now moving back into the modified ranks full-time.
āBeing a small family-oriented program means so much. Over the years, Iāve been fortunate to race alongside some many great competitors, but none have made me enjoy racing as much as it has being able to compete with Robbieā, said Rob Sr.
āStock car racing is something that Iāve always done. Weāve been fortunate to have many great supporters over the years - and weāre happy to now be in our sixth year of our partnership with Corey and Tri-State Car Wash Solutions. Our on track success isnāt possible without the help of our partners - and Corey knows what itās like to be competitiveā, said Robbie.
