Reframing our approach to issues

How do you face unpleasant things? With fear, doubt, anxiety, panic, disgust, weariness, lots of wrong words or anger? We develop patterns in our life that overtime automatically kicks in and controls how we react. You would think after handling things wrongly we would finally see the error of our ways, one would think. But sometimes we can be hard, stubborn, ego driven and just can’t seem to acknowledge our faults. So in order for for us to change there needs to be a reframing of how you look at things and be able to refocus in faith and stop lettting circumstances destroy your moments of faith and hope. Expand your capacity to stand with a resiliency to be still long enough to see things as we should, instead of through the eyes of chaos and confusion. How do we change? Walk away momentarily and gather yourself and refuse to deal with things in frustration or fear as we used to, this is will be a new pattern for a lot of us. To just stop and pray, focus and be still
However we will certainly feel the weight of circumstances, we are not robots, however we cannot live in anger or pain, and continue making choices from a place of duress. It is the conquerer that fights from a place of peace and rest. With a steadiness of faith in God that produces in us, we can make better choices. I know this personally, years of fighting and doubting decisions and struggling to find a place of peace and confidence and dealing with all the destructive thoughts that are pushing you to agree with them. We all had at some point have to come to a place we knew that we needed to change. But as we fight battles over time, and especially if we seem to stay in the same position of battling, we can fail to stay grounded in the word, we drift little by little until we find ourselves at our present place of reacting wrongly every time. We look at all the folks in the Bible that conquered giants, became great and became a greater blessing. Those that moved kingdoms and stood strong in the midst of hostiles challenging them, were they that much different from us, or we just read these accounts and see these as some sort of story that happened long ago? James 5 says Elijah was a man just like us with like passions, yet he prayed for it not to rain and for 3 years it did not. David was a man as well so was Paul and Job all the others. They just made up their minds there was no other option but to trust in God, Whose word of Truth always prevails over facts. We must come to a place so that whatever we see before us, we trust in the truth of what God is saying about this. Because His word always triumphs over the facts. Focus on what is going right and then change what is wrong and make it right by changing the spiritual environment around the trouble. Speak into your trouble just as Jesus spoke to the fig tree. God’s Truth always prevails over facts. Speak and believe His truth.

So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”

All, not part.

All, not part is what we are required to give to Christ. All of us, faults, blemishes and all the rest. I am pretty sure He already knows how we are. He always has know us. He planned for us, designed a life for us to life, and created a way back to Him thought the blood of Jesus. He has watched us fall and fail, He has sent help our way even though we never recognized it. But what does it mean to give all, how do we live and work, raise a family and make a mark? By giving Him all of us every day, in every aspect in every circumstance. This can be a difficult thing to grasp, because some will say you cannot have any fun, or enjoy the adventures of just living life. I understand that, I tried life on my own for a long time, and it just would not work. For the past 40 plus years Christ has been my Lord. He has led me, saved me, cleansed me and redeemed me and gave me a life worth living. Life can still be hard, but knowing Whose I am, makes even the difficult times seem easier. Abraham served God and held nothing back. He raised a family, had vast herds and people, but he had those things and they never had him. He was a witness every where he went. Kings and kingdoms feared him because of his covenant with God. To give all of us to Him puts us on a path of breakthroughs that actually mean something. No more chasing the wind or living as a pantomime, but actually living a life that will leave a mark of a witness of the redemptive work of Jesus in us. We will deal with trouble , have attacks but we win. I think about Paul who was beaten and suffered greatly but lived his best life and he won. Jesus Who was cruelly treated, beaten and spit upon and crucified, but He won. I think about Joseph, thrown into a pit, sold as a slave, sent to prison, but he won. Whatever any of us are facing, just know, He is for you and you will win. Give Him all and not a part. Be decisive and still and know He is God.

Fully persuaded and fully engaged.

Are we fully persuaded or just partially? Are we fully engaged or just somewhat ? There is a vast chasm between fully and partially! If we had to truly honestly describe where we are in our life, are we heading toward the mark if being fully persuaded and engaged or have we just fell into a rut of uttering all the right words, having all the right answers and just being religious and not staying connected to Him, spirit to Spirit. We live in some very different and strange times, much different than the past. Now information is being disseminated at the speed of the web. Some of this is just data noise, AI generated decoys to spread so much information that we just get lost in the flow. This is why it is so difficult to stay fully engaged in our journey. The endless junk reels, emails, news feeds and podcast after podcast, you tube channels, 1000 cable channels and websites without number. Then the dark web with all of its content. To stay fully engaged through all of this takes a great deal of focus and discipline to cut through all the noise and distractions and stay on point, while listening carefully to what the Spirit of God is saying. It can be so very easy to substitute religious activities instead of faith in our service without really understanding what we have become. John writes that we should make up our minds and either be hot or cold and not lukewarm. John also writes that we should return to our first love. James writes about a double minded man and Jesus has plenty to say about the faithless religious structures of His day, so much that He turned over the tables of the money changers and drove out all those who were profiting in the worship and offerings of God. We see daily some minister or other people in a church praising drag queens or saying that Paul was the antichrist or Jesus really was raised from the dead or God is non binary. The Noise is a constant flow to disrupt our journey with distractions and doubts. Paul writes in Romans 8: that he was persuaded beyond all doubt. PAUL was fully persuaded and fully engaged. Paul had plenty of experience with distractions. He was thrown into prisons, beaten on many occasions, his own countrymen tried to kill him, shipwrecked, spent nights in the cold. But Paul kept his focus and stayed fully engaged. Nehemiah stayed fully persuaded in his mission to rebuild the city and he was fully engaged. Nehemiah had personal attacks, threats and a number of attempt to intimidate him. But Nehemiah just stayed fully engaged. What about us? How persuaded are you of your mission? How engaged in your faith journey are you? Answer those questions honestly and you will have your answer. Ps 55 says I am distracted by the noise of the enemy. Today meditate day and night. Pray always. Learn to let your spirit connect with the Holy Spirit, listen in the stillness and quietness and know He is God.

“For I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers,” separate us from the love of God.

Be still and know He is God.

Ps 46 says to be still and know He is God. Isaiah 30 says to return to God and rest in Him, In quietness and trust and in confidence shall be our strength. Be still in Ps 46 means to cease and refrain, it also carries the root word which means to be healed. The inference is to stop our own efforts, be restored and walk in His plans and understand with a new dimension the power of God. As Isaiah says , stop and be quiet, be still and rest, for this will be your confidence, that you trust in Me, without questioning. Elijah didn’t hear God in storm, earthquake nor fire, but as a still quiet voice. Jesus said when we pray, go into our closet and shut the door. In that place of worship, prayer and stillness, we can know Him and His presence in ways we cannot otherwise. Joshua was told to mediate day and night, Jesus said that He wish all men to pray and kit be a coward. But this praying and meditating comes in the stillness and quietness where we can actually hear. It is in this time that we are equipped to live and fight our battles. It is in this place we learn to have faith. In is in the space we learn to speak life and not death. In this moment of stillness we are encouraged, equipped and strengthened so that we can do all things in Christ, Who strengthens us. It is this place of stillness that we calm ourselves from all the noise that is being hurled at us non stop, but in our prayer closet we shut out this noise and find ourselves at peace. The word closet in Matthew 6 means a place of dispensing, a storeroom and a place of provision. This is why we not only learn to pray without ceasing, but we have that place we go into as well. A place we can just learn to be still and know He is God. A place to that becomes our storeroom, a place we can be supplied with everything we need. Jesus at times would withdraw in a solitary place to pray. We can jest anywhere, but we need that solitary place to learn in stillness that He is God.
Isaiah 45:15: “Truly, you are a God who hides Himself. It is the stillness of our inner man that we find ourselves in His presence. This is why we need to learn to be still. So we can know Him.

“For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel: In returning [to Me] and resting [in Me] you shall be saved; in quietness and in [trusting] confidence shall be your strength. But you would not. Isaiah‬ ‭30‬:‭15‬

“Let be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth!”

“But when you pray, go into your [most] private room, and, closing the door, pray to your Father, Who is in secret; and your Father, Who sees in secret, will reward you in the open.”

Position yourselves, be still and know He is God.

These words today reminds us of the power that God gives us to win our battles and wars. God’s command us not to fight in our strength and wisdom but position ourselves properly and stand still in Him. To win the wars we must have position ourselves correctly in the right battles. To be in the right position means to be in the right place spiritually, physically and emotionally. We cannot be effective in praying, standing and believing if we are not in unity with ourselves. Spirit, soul and body. To be in the right place, the right battlefield in faith and positioned correctly in the right season. Then we can stand still and hold our ground with a determination to resist and fight for the victory. To stand means to take the right posture of faith without fear or dismay and then we move as God moves. The battle is the Lords and we will never win the war, if we are always in the wrong place, the wrong battlefield with the wrong attitude and speaking faithlessly. Eph 6 declares we are to stand firmly in our place; the place we are defending, like our health, finances, peace, destiny or our house: this is the place where we refuse to compromise our belief and our vision. The vision we need to develop is the vision of what the word is saying! Take time to engineer by meditating in the word to have the correct vision and then fight like David. We must never let fear, panic ir frustration speak through us and then control our actions because the devil is a liar and there is no truth in him. Remember the 12 spies.
The importance of all wars and battles that we fight will always be: what are we truly fighting for, why and what will be the outcome, if we don’t know the why and the what, then we cannot passionately fight. We have to know the battlefield, which is where the war takes place, this battle field is the place we have to defend and control. He who controls the battlefield wins the war. We must have the posture of faith, trust and hope to carry us all the way through.
Father help us understand how to position ourselves properly in every conflict, show us how to stay in faith, peace and keep speaking words of faith. We will take the right stands before we move. We worship and adore You for You are good, all the time You are good.

You shall not need to fight in this battle; take your POSITIONS, STAND STILL and see the deliverance of the Lord [Who is] with you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Fear not nor be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you. 2 Chr 20:17‬ ‭

Never backing down.

In Luke 18 Jesus says to us, that we should always pray and never back down, never be a coward, never faint,never lose heart and never give up.
If we do not always pray, then the inference is we will faint, we will give up, we will be a coward and we will lose heart. Always praying and always meditating keeps us moving and never backing down. Jesus is expecting us to keep pressing even when it looks like things will never change. Jesus also tells us in Luke 18 the story of the unjust judge. A widow went over and over to unjust judge demanding Justice, and even though the judge did not fear God this widow’s persistent appeals turned the judge to grant her request. She was relentless in her pursuit of Justice. Jesus says take notice of her.
In Luke 11 Jesus makes another statement about praying. He says to ask and keep asking, seek and keep seeking and knock and keep knocking. Then Jesus said if we do we will receive, we will find and the door will open. Jesus in these three passages lays out a pattern of persistent faith in breaking through. We may think is God hearing my prayers, why is everything always so hard. It seems as if nothing ever changes. Well persistent pressing will bring the answer every time. The psalmist writes in Ps 69:13 that my prayer is to You my God , and at an acceptable and opportune time in your mercy and in Your truth and faithfulness of Your salvation, You will answer. God will answer at the very precise opportune and strategic time. In Ps 106:13 God chastises the Israelites because they hastily forgot His works and did NOT WAIT FOR HIS PLANS TO DEVELOP! Now we see why we have to stay persistent and in patience. We have to wait for the plans of God to develop and at the strategic and opportune time He answers. When we stay focused and engaged in asking and seeking and knocking there will be the season of harvest at the opportune moment His plans come together, if we faint not! All things work together for our good. Proverbs 16: it is God that arranges the circumstances of our life. Col 1:9. Says we are to be filled with the knowledge of His will. Luke 18: pray always.

Jesus told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not to turn coward faint, lose heart, and give up.
Yet because this widow continues to bother me, I will defend and protect and avenge her, lest she give me intolerable annoyance and wear me out by her continual coming or at the last she come and rail on me or assault me or strangle me.
Then the Lord said, Listen to what the unjust judge says!
And will not [our just] God defend and protect and avenge His elect who cry to Him day and night? Will He defer them and delay help on their behalf?” Luke‬ ‭18:1, 5-7‬
So I say to you, Ask and keep on asking and it shall be given you; seek and keep on seeking and you shall find; knock and keep on knocking and the door shall be opened to you.”

Be not conformed to this world.

Romans 12 says make a decisive dedication of our body, all our facilities, all of our being to God. This a decision that holds nothing back. Decisive means: from the Latin to cut off that which needs to change and be resolute in making a decision. So we are to make a definitive determination to dedicate our entire being, body, soul and spirit to God as an act of our service of worship. This can be hard if we are conflicted about what the will of God is for our life. This can be hard if we are distracted. But the next verse in this chapter says: do not be conformed to this world, its customs, its ideals because they all are superficial, empty and meaningless. But we are to be molded instead by the power of the resurrection of Christ and then we can without a doubt know what is good and acceptable and the perfect will of God for us. Lots of words, but the point is, we need to have lots of filters in our life and be governed by the Spirit of God. This is an everyday dedication, all the time. When we determine to be like this, there will be those that will look for flaws and ignoring the log in their own eye will try to undermine you instead. They will hunt for something. Remember Daniel prayed anyway knowing it was a trap. His peers wanted to ambush him, didn’t work. Daniel survived the lions den. Jesus had many accusers and they crucified Him, He rise from the dead and won. Paul said many afflictions he had, prison, beatings, shipwrecked, perils from his own countrymen, but he said God delivered him out of them all. Paul won. So let the words roll off and stay focused on what God has called you to. As time goes on, and as this world grows darker, this will be more common, so practice being unbothered now. There will always be those that look for faults. But LET THEM. We all to one degree or the other have had this to happen, and when it does, just remember Who you are in Christ. Remember that darkness hates light and the flesh will war against the spirit. This life is not hard, but it can be challenging, this is why Jesus said I will make your joy full and complete. We can live in the joy and peace of God by dedicating ourselves daily and hourly to stay joyful regardless. Giving ourselves over to live in Him will require discipline and an on going battle again the world. So be ready, but do not fear nor fret, just rest in Him and rejoice, because greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. Eyes on the journey.

Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect in His sight for you]. ‭‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ ‭

Hit and run faith

The term hit and run, is self explanatory. At times we use our faith like a hit and run style faith. We pray and then run in unbelief. We pray and confess the word, then run and start talking fear, unbelief and doubt. James says a double minded man shall not receive anything from the Lord. So a man using hit and run faith shall not get anywhere. In Luke 18: Jesus says we should pray faithfully, boldly and without become a coward. We are in a season that we must re-examine how we pray, how we use our faith, how we stand and how we live and what our belief structures are. The days of playing church, being religious and living in complete disobedience are ending, this new day is requiring us to become steadfast in faith and live in the covenant, instead of being empty, dead and lifeless. We are facing events that are pushing us, but God is faithful. Our nation is in turmoil, but God is moving in the midst of the chaos. God is moving and stirring a generation to stand up and be faithful and virtuous. We are seeing more focus on spiritual warfare than ever before, discerning the demonic, religious agnosticism, but there are more groups being raised up and worshiping in the midst of this darkness. There are new ministries being raised up to become strategic with laser focus to the entire systems of the nation instead of just the church. This is why we can no longer have a hit and run faith. We must use our faith and attack and attack until the enemy has no more power to stand. It is time to pray to find our our place in this season. What are you called to do, and where is your ground. No more running , no more hit and run faith. But stand and fight until the war machine of the enemy is destroyed. . . . .

For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds, 2 Corinthians‬ ‭10:4‬

3 filters of life

We are a 3 part being, spirit, soul and body. All three bear good fruit or produce sin. The body is the place that reveals what the spirit and soul is filled with. The Bible tells us that our spirit should reflect the fruit and gifts the Holy Spirit imparts, this should impact our inner man and strengthen us inwardly. Paul prays that believers would be “strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man” Our inner man is that which connects us with heaven. We are also told to take every thought captive, destroy mental strongholds and be renewed in the spirit of our mind. We have the mind of Christ. We are told to be renewed in our minds by the word. Paul writes about the fruit of the flesh, Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, or**es, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
We are told to be disciplined, develop self control and fast. In whatever way we develop our inner man will impact our soul and manifest in our body, by actions and also by using our mouth to create words of life or death. This is important in determining how we see and understand faith and God’s word. As we are strengthened in our inner man, our minds are renewed and our flesh disciplined, then our faith is working in agreement with Him. If any of our being is under developed then we will fight against ourselves trying to believe. An example is Peter walking on the water. As his inner man leaped to come to Jesus in spite of the storm, his inner man was giving him the courage to step out into the water and his mind and flesh was following. But as soon as he let his mind see the storm, his flesh cried out for fear of drowning. What happened? Peter became divided in what he was believing. Sound familiar? James says a double minded man can receive nothing from God. What about Abraham? The Bible says he never troubled his mind about where God was leading. Genesis says he had lifted his hand to sacrifice Isaac. Abraham’s spirit, soul and flesh followed what God said. No division in his being. Now grace covers us so much, but if we can meditate on the truth until it becomes a powerful reality then our filters, our inner man, soul and body will work together to believe. As we learn this obedience we can come into harmony with God like Abraham and start living in the fullness of the new creation realities. Selah
