"NEVER buy anthing on-line that cannot be sent back for a refund". If you buy a Seiko watch on-line and you can't set the date, send it back and they will set it for you, usually at no charge. If you buy a moped or an ATV on-line (assembled or unassembled) and it won't start when you g
et it, what do you do? I don't think so. Read the warranty carefully. Six months, or one year, or lifetime warranty on the motor or parts means nothing if it just won't start. And they know that! We have NEVER sold a bike to anyone without starting it first. When it leaves my shop, IT IS RUNNING. I Am Papa Wheelie and you have my word on that. OUR MANUFACTURERS DEFECT WARRANTY COVERS EVERYTHING, BUMPER TO BUMPER. Now, if Daddy, Uncle John or you neighbor wrecks it, THAT IS NOT COVERED! Moped theft is everywhere! Before you buy a used mope from anyone, especially on the internet, make sure it is not stolen. Before I buy a used moped from ANYONE, I check the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) with the local police. They are required to come to my shop in person to verifiy the VIN and run a check to see if it has been reported as stolen. If I get a clean report, I am still not in the clear because a theft report can be submitted by ANYONE, MONTHS LATER. I know because it has happened to me. I gave a used moped I had purchase to my mechanic so he could get to work. I checked the VIN - it was not stolen. Months later he was stopped by police, they ran the VIN and it came up as stolen. He went to jail. The charges were dropped but both of us were embarrased, inconvenienced, and victims.
