31 years.

Mandy Broome started on third shift running machines. Over the years, she cross-trained, worked in the gauge room, returned to the production floor, and eventually became a team leader.

Her story is a reminder that careers aren't always built in a straight line. Sometimes they're built one opportunity at a time.

And after more than three decades, one thing stands out most to Mandy:

"The people."

The friendships formed along the way. The teammates she's worked beside for years. The relationships that have made Walhalla feel like more than just a workplace.

Lillian didn't always want to be a welder.

In fact, she once planned to become a criminal profiler for the FBI.

Then a summer experience introduced her to welding. One class led to another, and eventually to a career she never saw coming.

After starting in assembly while attending college full-time, Lillian continued growing her skills and moved into a welder fabricator apprenticeship.

Today, she's a Maintenance Welder Fabricator at our Walhalla facility.

Proof that sometimes one opportunity can change everything.
