Oh the highs and lows of drag racing…

Decided to come out for a nice weekend of low stakes, fun bracket racing and it’s turned into a nightmare. I’ve broken my third transmission in the last 14 days. I believe the ring and pinion is gone too.

The ending of this year has been too similar to last years. (3 engines blown up in 14 days) Albeit, I would much rather rebuild a transmission than another engine.

I’m still rolling here in Saint Louis thanks to the Hale’s! Going 6 teens in a Chevy II for the rest of the day! Already picked up a winlight in it and am moving on to round 3!

I came up just 1 winlight short of a diamond Wally in the final opportunity to earn one for the year in Saint Louis!

I hurt another transmission in the Camaro just 1 run after putting a spare one in. So, I decided to call it quits for the weekend in Super Gas and switch into Stock Eliminator for race 2.

I drove the wheels off the mustang for 6 rounds before falling short in the final. I got to the finish line by .011 and broke out by one. stinkin. thou. (As Reinhart would put it)

Nothing much else to report from the week. Grandpa had fun in super gas after missing basically the entire year and my super comp effort was lack luster.

I believe it’s time to regroup for 2027. Possibly may make another outing this year but I have nothing penciled into my schedule yet.

007 up front and ended up .001 in front to be dead 0 and 7 total.

Knew that was a coin flip race going in and was pumped to make a great run to win it.

Having fun at one of the last events of the year for us (maybe the last if we don’t stop breaking stuff haha)

Hundreds of hours of work all for 10 seconds of GO!

Wouldn’t have it any other way.

We’re through the national event in Saint Louis where we made a 2nd round appearance and exit in Stock eliminator as well as the test and tune before this week’s divisional!

Grandpa’s corvette is running great! 9.899 at 174 mph was the best run of the day for his ride. 4.90 at 142 to the 1/8 mile without the throttle stop. The rear gear change from 4.30 to 4.10 seems to have made the car much more manageable to the 60’.

I, unfortunately, have changed two transmissions in 12 hours. Done with all that 🙄.

Thanks to some good buddies, I’m back in action after breaking a planetary after one test run in the Camaro.

I’ll be wheeling the wasting fuel cars in super gas and comp while grandpa will be in super gas with the motorsports unlimited/ corvette for the week!

In honor of it being day 1 of the 2026 NHRA Midwest Nationals at Saint Louis, let’s throw it back nearly 30 years to 1997 where grandpa made the 2nd national event final of his season in Federal Mogul Funny Car!

The corvette is running and driving!

We’re off to the national event in Saint Louis this week where I’ll be competing in Stock Eliminator in the Cobra Jet!

All of the other cars will have to wait for the double divisional next week!

Grandpa went and picked something up this morning!

We’ve got 2 days to get this thing from tubes to the track! Let’s get it!

The OG million has come and gone for us. Made some good runs, a couple great ones, and a couple terrible ones over the week with a 4th round loss in the Million being the best finish of the entire week. I’d really like to emphasize my thankfulness to those who believed in my program and me enough to help put me into the main event!

I’ll be back out there on the biggest stage of bracket racing again eventually, I really do think between how good my car was last week and how I know I can drive my car, I can win one of those deals. Just not this year.

We’re back now and getting ready for the NHRA national event in Saint Louis this weekend where I’ll be competing in Stock Eliminator!

Two more weeks of racing in STL to wrap up 2026!
