Well the verdict is in… the wrist pin tried to leave the chat. I think it’s safe to say it was about to spin a bearing too, well
pretty much already did it looks like. Just hadn’t locked up yet. Good thing I decided to swap the motor when I did.

Hmmm…… wonder why cylinder 4 was getting some blow by? Believe it or not this motor ran great. Absolutely no indication something this bad was wrong with it. I really just thought the rings didn’t seat right or the cylinder was a little out of round. Did not expect this.

Well pistons and rods assembled and block and oil pan painted. Next up, cam bearings and freeze plugs.

Well it’s been a rough road getting this far but I think most of the hard stuff is done. I still have a few small things left to do and a few more parts to get but it’s getting close to being ready to completely disassemble and start the body work and paint. I was hoping to avoid repainting the frame but there was just too many things that had to be corrected, redone and modified so it all has to come back apart and be painted too. I think it’s safe to say I will be pretty busy this winter.

Finally got to put some miles on the new Borgeson 525 steering box in the 47 coupe. I highly recommend this steering box for these heavier cars. I drives so much better now than it did. Throw that stock steering box over a ravine.

Finally got all the ac lines made and the wiring hooked up. Ended up having to replace the evaporator. Wasn’t planning on that. Getting it vacuumed down then I can add refrigerant and we should have cold air.
