71 Triumph Bonneville back from a few years rest. New Boyer Electronic ignition and very pricey 6 over tubes. Surprised to find no extra length forks being sold or manufactured any more. So I put a call into ",Forking by Frank" (New Frank, New location) but he was willing to check to see if he had the material to produce these tapered top, Wentworth threaded beauties. She purrs like a kitten, little ruff around the edges, but a solid ride and a great candidate for resto. Stay tuned

Big Dog Choppers are known for weak tranny's, I assumed because they ran an Ultima transmission. ( Not the best in my book). But this 04 L*D has delkron cases, (still not sure of the Mfg.) and the failure is a bogus weld on a shift shaft? Inspection process is key, good thing it"s not carrying someone to the moon.
Or, maybe it was?

This is exactly why we are " open by appt. only" and don"t answer the phone or the door while building a motor. The side cover, crankshaft, camshaft, counterweight and piston and rod have to removed to install these tappets. Yep my good buddy stopped with a million questions about UTV tire sizes, CVT shafts, etc... lesson learned.

Just because you found a "barn find" doesn't mean use parts from the "barn", to fix it! Like this piece of wire cut and bent for a float pin.

2014 Indian has changed my Harley biased opinion of them, that's for sure. What a beautiful ride, with unbelievable torque. Thanks for the opportunity to work on this Fred. Ride Safe!
