Why Chimera?

This is the question everyone is asking. "Why should I switch to Chimera when I already have ###XX programmer?"

Great question!

Power Hungry Performance made our name in the 6.0L market with our FICM tuning. Way back in the day, before the Hydra Chip, that's what we did. In fact, it was the FICM tuning that kept PHP afloat while our Hydra Chip grew in popularity. We had a unique relationship with Edge Products that allowed us to white label their programmers with our own firmware and provide what everyone now knows as the FICM Programmer. And it was great... until the hardware was no longer available.

We have spent the last several years trying to find a replacement for that hardware with no luck. So we made our own. That's what Chimera is. It is Power Hungry Performance's FICM Programmer... that happens to have the added benefit of ECM/TCM tuning as well.

This is not just another 6.0L tuner. This is years of work aimed at providing what has been missing in the market. We are working with the best 6.0L tuners to provide a network of options for your trucks. Not only do you have instant access to our FICM tuning, you also get our "canned" tunes for relatively stock trucks AND the flexibility of working with any 6.0L tuner out there who has our Minotaur software. They now have the ability to fine tune the ECM/TCM AND FICM to your exact needs.

Speaking of Minotaur, it is now the most thorough tuning software available for the 6.0L! Bill has spent countless hours combing through the definition files, labeling absolutely everything, documenting all of it, so that Minotaur 6.0L tuners have the most flexibility on the market.

Why Chimera?

Because you want the benefits of FICM tuning (increased throttle response, better cold starts on those frigid mornings, better fuel economy, more HP... it goes on) with the added bonus of being able to also tune your ECM/TCM through the same module. That's why.

We're not trying to replace your ECM tuner... unless you're looking for more control and benefits. If you simply use it to tune your FICM, great! No problem. That's what it's made for.

We're back in the 6.0L game and we're here to stay this time.

Another 7.3 getting some upgrades to hold the extra power.
Have some cooling system plans that we will share as the project comes together.

3/4 fill on a 7.3 with no added machine work. Stay tuned for results.

Well that escalated quickly. I have had 21 tremor rear springs for this truck and a PMF bracket kit from Trevor Hall for way too long. Obviously it needed the front carli springs to level it out.
