Born and raised here in the Akron area all of our lives, Duane and I grew up in a small house on the outskirts of Akron. I began my career in automotive sales at the age of eighteen to support my young family and have been in the car business my whole adult life. I have four beautiful children Ashley, Cody, Nick, Brennan, and a wonderful wife Robin. Duane attended the University of Akron; he gradu
ated with a degree in accounting, and opened his own small business. Duane and his wife Kristalyn, have two children, Will and Larissa. In May of 1992, I started working at Fred Martin Motor Company and had dreams of bringing fresh and creative ideas to the auto business. My message was clear and simple: make buying quality new and used cars easy, affordable, and offer a large selection, and because of that simple philosophy, we set more sales records than any other dealership in Ohio. In May of 1999, Duane and I joined forces to purchase Fred Martin Superstore on Barber Road in Barberton, from the Martin Family. In 2003 that was followed by Fred Martin Nissan, on Arlington Road in Green, and most recently Hyundai of Louisville in neighboring Kentucky. Together, my brother and I have worked hard to make the Fred Martin name synonymous with value, quality, professionalism, and outstanding customer service. Our mission is to provide great cars, at great prices, delivered by great people. That’s our business, and that’s our pledge to you as a member of our community. Duane passed away in early 2018, a great loss to me both personally and professionally. With his passing comes a heightened passion for continued success of the businesses we have worked so hard to build. I work at the dealerships everyday with my adult children by my side. We are hands on and ready to serve our customers in any way possible. We promise to make your shopping experience fun and hassle-free. Life is hard enough, buying a great car shouldn’t have to be.
