A Yamaha dealership replaced the for seals on this bike last year. They are BOTH already leaking and need to be replaced. FYI folks, if your replacing fork seals, the upper tubes MUST be clean and free of any kind of debris. If you get your machine back from a shop and the nuts, bolts, or anything looks like this, get a new mechanic. Especially if they don't take accountability for their "technicians" mistakes. Before and after. 2000 grit wet/dry does wonders! Also not using crescent wrenches on aluminum fork tube caps helps.

Yamaha V-star 650. Good starter bike. Horribly finicky carburators! These things are a nightmare when the carbs need work. About as fun as getting TTR's running right. Good compression on both cylinders, less than 5% cylinder leak down, valve clearance is in spec, new plugs, gas and air filter. Fun times....
