511 Innovations takes on the canoe racing world!

Tested and trusted by the 2025 AuSable River Canoe Marathon champions, our custom feed team boat number sign is built to make race day easier.

Skip the glow sticks and glow-in-the-dark duct tape creations during marathon prep! Our sign gives your feed team a bright, customizable display that’s easy to spot day or night.

Designed with racers and feeders in mind, the sign:

-Collapses flat to fit in your backpack.
-Can stand independently on its tripod or be held by a member of your feed team.
-Features adjustable brightness.
-Is fully customizable with your boat number and colors.
-Can also display timers, clocks, stopwatches, weather, and more when needed.

We also custom designed and printed a mounting system that’s sturdy enough to handle the chaos of your different feed dynamics.

Each sign is customized with your boat number and color of choice. When you’re ready for next year’s race, simply update the number instead of purchasing a whole new sign.

This project started as a special request from our good friend Travis Mecklenburg and has gotten more requests this year so please feel free to share your thoughts. We always welcome feedback, ideas, and new challenge. We love creating solutions that make race day better.

Head over to our website to order yours today!
We know we are a little late to the race game this year, but any orders placed by 5:00pm Monday 7/20 can be used in action this year!

Due to the time constraint of the race this year, we will do local pick-up/delivery in Grayling this year but next year will plan to add shipping too!

Good luck to everyone taking on the 2026 AuSable River Canoe Marathon! We’re proud to play even a small part in such an incredible tradition in our community.

And a special shoutout to our sponsored boat #11—we’ll be using this sign while feeding them this year! 🛶

Our website is finally live! Feel free to try and break it so we can make it better, and don’t hesitate to let us know if something could be improved. Also, let me know what you think would be best to add to the site!

Not a ton on there at the moment, but we will add more over time as we feel comfortable that we can provide the proper level of support.

We are dealers for much much more than what’s on the site, so if you’re looking for something in particular, please let me know.

Thank you to everyone who has and continues to support us, it’s been amazing so far and we just plan to keep growing so we can help more people!

Finally got the injector connector back shells in today so wrapped up the engine harness and got it installed in the Land Speed Nash!

I split the harness into two major sections so the manifold can easily be disconnected from the rest of the engine harness. The entire engine harness easily disconnects via an Autosport bulkhead connector so only 1 plug needs disconnected and the engine can be pulled out for maintenance or freshening.

Well, I had never done this before but this job necessitated it.... So we figure it out 😆
It's really nice having the Dash Display mounted right to the steering wheel, but it does pose a challenge that the increased wiring needs to be routed to it in a flexible way so there is no strain when the wheel is turned lock to lock. In this case, the dash gets CANbus communication as well as Ethernet that both require twisted pairs for EMI prevention (3 twisted pair total) as well as +12V/Ground and IO. Nobody I could find makes a curly cord with 3 twisted pair.
I decided to just make this one custom, and while it's not perfect it will work just fine.

Otto buttons on the wheel for Shift, Parachute Deploy, Reverse, and Neutral were soldered, fully potted in epoxy and booted.

Overall, not terrible.

If you watched far enough into the latest video on the Land Speed Nash project, you saw I wasn't happy with how the O2 Sensor connectors were laying out. There wasn't going to be a nice way to zip tie or clamp them down.
One thought was to re-terminate them all to an Autosport connector and that would be very clean, but if one ever needed replaced it would be a hassle for the customer, so I wanted to maintain the original connectors.
This is what I came up with. This is just a prototype out of PLA that still needs threaded inserts and the design needs some tweaks to the cover fit up, but overall I think it's better considering I have no idea what I'm doing 🤣. Final piece will be better quality and out of better filament like PET-CF or similar.
What changes would you make?
