OOF!
Overloading your vehicle is never a good idea.. for a lot of reasons.
Safety is definitely a #1 concern.. but have you seen what it can do to a differential? 😬

This differential carrier came out of a 2007 Ram 1500 with a Chrysler 9.25" ring gear.
Our client came in with concern that they found "coins" in the differential housing and that the internal components were damaged. 😶
The coins found turned out to be the heads of the ring gear bolts that had broken off from stress.
The heads were then tossed around in the moving differential assembly, and became as flat as nickels. 😳

The ring gear bolt heads tossing around inside the assembly caused damage to the ring and pinion, ABS exciter ring, ABS sensor, and the differential case itself.
A complete rebuild was performed and our client is back on the road enjoying their vehicle and summer shenanigans. 💪

If you are going to use your vehicle for anything other than "normal driving" (see your manufacturer handbook for details), we highly recommend you have your differential assembly inspected and the wearable components maintained so it can keep up with your lifestyle. 🙌
