This call started out rough

I had to introduce myself several times and he was very apprehensive and all about price at first

I just asked the right questions in the right tone to give him space to open up so I could better understand what he is looking for and better serve him

It’s a common misconception that you should withhold as much information from a salesman as possible

When done properly, a sales experience is a collaboration

Yes, we do get paid on profit, and no profit is not a bad thing, but ultimately the best salesmen understand that relationships pay tenfold over transactions

Building relationships creates a pipeline of referrals, which means steady business

And steady business means you don’t have to try to make all your money on any one deal, which puts that out of the main focus and the main focus can be serving the person in front of you

In order to serve someone properly, you have to understand them. In order to understand them, you have to ask the right questions
